Main Responsibilities:
- Implements strategic goals for the PMU in conjunction with the Program Director and the team of experts
- Ensure that the different units within the PMU develop action plans which support its strategic goals and objectives
- Maintains deep knowledge of all stakeholders in the local development sector
- Ensures that the PMU adheres to all relevant Lebanese laws and regulations
- Drafts detailed terms of reference for consultants dealing with local development issues and supervises them
- Establishes mechanisms for exchange of information and experiences wiht interested stakeholders on local development activities
- Participates in the selection of the PMU team
- Conduct field visits to maintain contact with the field staff, observe the operations and monitor beneficiaries satisfaction on a periodic basis
- Ensures that management structures are in place to promote institutional efficiency and effectiveness
- Serves as acting program director when required
Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in managing similar projects, activities, and responsibilities
- Vast knowledge about and experience in the status, challenges and opportunities of municipalities in Lebanon
- Excellent reporting, communication and inetrpersonal skills
- Prior experience in implementing USAID programs
- Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with local community leaders
