For the expertise of Technical Vocational Trainers under Safadi Foundation
- Background
Education and employability continue to be the major barriers to economic inclusion for
youth in Lebanon particularly in the city of Tripoli. Safadi Foundation conducted in
2016, a Social and Socio-Economic Participatory Assessment (SSEPA) and results
indicate that 12.1% of the Old City of Tripoli’s residents, aged between 6 and 15 are not
registered in school, only 8% of citizens have a secondary or high–level education. Safadi
Foundation aims through “Tripoli Youth Econ-gagement” project at engaging 360
vulnerable youth from Tripoli aged between 16 and 34 into the local and national labour
market by developing their skills and competencies in several industries. At the end of
the project, 115 participants will benefit from internship opportunities and 115 will be
placed in jobs.
- Purpose
Safadi Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Trainers to join its training team who are able to provide technical courses in one of the following techniques:
- Metal Welding
- Electricity
- Sewing
- Janitorial
- Infant Care Giver
- Waiter
- Sous Chef
The successful national candidate will be expected to:
- Provide a training content based on the shared curricula, field manuals, and information database by SF team.
- Provide advice on best practices in the relevant sector in Lebanon to maximize support for participants to market linkages.
The general objective of the proposed training is to train approximately 15 Youth on the know-how of each Topics; theory and practice.
- Tasks and Responsibilities
- To use Presentations, videos and case studies in training sessions.
- Final report of findings and recommendations: The Trainer shall report directly to the Safadi Accelerated Vocational Training Centre in Tripoli, in particular. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of the training sessions:
- Presentation of training outcomes to the SF field team and technical advisors;
- Training Reports which includes: i) number of beneficiaries (disaggregated by gender and nationality), ii) technical pre-post test results, iii) provide technical guidance for future steps.
- Present a final report including recommendations (template available)
- Contract Information
- Availability: 15th of December
- Duty station: Tripoli and/or Akkar
- Contract Length: 3 Months
- Qualifications Required
- Person Qualifications:
- Selected candidate should be an expert and have an advanced experience in providing similar trainings; at least 3 years of experience.
- Strong experience in delivering training to multicultural attendees.
- Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs/ local authorities for at least 3 years
- Capacity to think creatively in dealing with vulnerable audience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive technical and communication style.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of designing effective presentations to Strong command in Arabic (the training language)
- High reporting experience
- Clear understanding of the political, geographic, and economic dynamics of Tripoli area.
- Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience in working in similar field
- Competencies:
- Show respect to beneficiaries’ confidentiality.
- Respect and promote SF’s Policies.
- Address needs and requests in a professional way.
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to a beneficiary or to others.
