Risk Monitoring Focal Point

 Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor Risks in Shelters

  • Visit assigned shelters regularly
  • Observe and flag any child protection, safeguarding, and safety risks (e.g. overcrowding, unsafe spaces, children at risk, exclusion)
  • Report issues to the supervisor in a timely manner

 

2. Check CWC & IEC Materials

  • Ensure key materials are visible and accessible, including:
    • PSEA information
    • Complaint/reporting mechanisms
    • Available services and hotlines
  • Report any gaps or missing materials

 

3. Support Safe Identification & Referrals

  • Act as a focal point for receiving concerns from facilitators or community workers
  • Ensure safe and confidential referral of cases through established pathways, including:
    • Child Protection / GBV case management
    • Specialized protection services (Child Protection, GBV case management, and family tracing and reunification services for unaccompanied or separated children)
  • Do not manage cases directly — refer only

 

4. Coordinate with Facilitators

  • Follow up with CBPSS facilitators on any protection concerns during sessions
  • Ensure issues are escalated when needed

 

5. Reporting

  • Share regular updates on:
    • Risks observed
    • Actions taken
    • Referrals made
  • Immediately report urgent cases

 

 Profile Required

  • Background in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Basic experience in child protection or community work
  • Understanding of confidentiality and referral pathways
  • Comfortable working in emergency/shelter settings
