Job Summary

The medical director is responsible for guiding, advising, and facilitation of service and training projects and activities for all technical units at SANAD.  

Working hours: 16 hours per week.

Work setup: Online:  structured meetings and activities and in-person visits once every quarter for one week. All online activities are expected to take place during the working hours in Lebanon

 

Functions or duties, and responsibilities

The Hospice Medical Director is expected to carry out the following tasks:

  1. Clinical tasks
  • Supervise the medical admission evaluation to determine goals of care
  • Provide medical advice for SANAD hospice nurses
  • Monitor the quality of care provided by the healthcare providers
  • Conduct regular and periodic meetings with the medical and nursing teams to ensure implementation of the internal medical and nursing policies,
  • Attend weekly Interdisciplinary team and Medical Unit’s meetings
  • Participate in related conferences, trainings, workshops and study groups

     2. Non-clinical tasks

  • Participate in the strategic planning of the organization
  • Participate in setting and reviewing policies, procedures, and services in appropriate manner and time
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and programs; identifies opportunities for quality improvement in patient care and safety 
  • Participate in the development of palliative care projects and activities in Lebanon and in the Region
  • Contribute to technical training plans for the Hospice Care Team
  • Contribute to training activities in hospice and palliative care
  • Assist with orientation of new staff, as needed

Support research and scientific articles publication projects on palliative care
