Adolescent Officer

Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:   ROLE PURPOSE: The Adolescent programme officer will work with the Senior Community Mobilization Officer [N1] and the Senior Psychosocial Officer to set-up and manage of the youth programme in the Bekaa, ensuring that activities are monitored and delivered to a high quality.   KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   The key roles and responsibilities for the Adolescent Programme Officer are:    Rôles      et responsabilités :Map existing services and activities currently      being available for adolescents in the Bekaa Support the      Identification of  suitable sites/location to set up Youth clubs / Youth camps and conduct youth activities Support the      identification of consultants/trainers for the youth programme[N1]  Supervise and manage      the performance of all youth animators and consultants/trainers involved      in the programme Support the development      and delivery of  trainings to youth      animators Lead set up and      implementation of adolescent sub-groups under the child protection      committees, with support of the Senior community mobilization officer[N2] . Support the development      and delivery of trainings to youth on community mobilization Support set up of      mechanisms for the distribution of community improvement grants to youth Coordinate with      partners, community structures and SC staff to support youth in      implementation of community improvement projects Ensure constant and      transparent communication and collaboration with relevant community      structures and community leaders Ensure quality and      minimum child protection standards are implemented and respected in all youth      activities, including child safeguarding policy. Ensure that materials      are ordered and delivered to the youth activities in a timely manner Establishing and      maintaining a weekly and monthly work plan which will include weekly monitoring      visits to all locations where youth activities are implemented Write weekly and monthly reports Share information on      field-level successes and challenges with the Child Protection Coordinator        Document best case      practices and case studies QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree in teaching, social work or social sciences Extensive work experience of working directly with adolescents Excellent communication skills with adolescents and parents Experience in project management and supervision of staff Ability to write weekly and monthly reports Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and      English.
