Case Worker - Tripoli

ROLE PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of the Case Management Officers(and overall guidance of the Child Protection Coordinator and Program Manager), the Child Protection Assistant (Case worker) will be responsible for implementing activities related to case management and alternative care, targeting vulnerable children and families including refugees, returnees and children in host communities.  SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to:  Case Management Officer Staff directly reporting to this post: None  COMPETENCIES  Delivering results Takes personal responsibility and holds others to account to deliver our ambitious goals for children, continually improving own performance or that of the team/ organisation.   Applying technical and professional expertise Applies the required technical and professional expertise to the highest standards; promotes and shares best practice within and outside the organisation.  Working effectively with others Works collaboratively to achieve shared goals and thrives on diversity of people and perspectives; knows when to lead and when to follow and how to ensure effective cross-boundary working  Networking Builds and uses sustainable relationships and networks to support the work of Save the Children. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree in Social Work (desirable), or degree social sciences or development Experience in working with at-risk children and families,  experience in case management in the emergency response desirable Experience in community mobilisation and conducting outreach activities Experience in project and team management (desirable) Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either English or French (desirable) Ability to write weekly and monthly reports, develop schedules and collect data Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the event of major emergencies
