Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.
Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Lead child protection assessments in the North as required, in coordination with the Child Protection Working Group for the North and/or other external sector agencies, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific, disaggregated analysis of children’s needs.
With support from the lead Child Protection Advisor and/or other senior programme staff, lead the implementation of child protection programmes as appropriate, including:
Programme activities supporting the psychosocial (physical, social, emotional) wellbeing of children and their families, and skills building on positive parenting, in coordination with health and education sectors.
Programme activities for at risk adolescents and youth in cooperation with other sectors, particularly health and livelihoods.
Lead community mobilization efforts, including the setup of child protection committees and adolescent engagement activities, in cooperation with other sectors.
Set up of outreach and referral mechanisms for vulnerable families to access basic services, in cooperation with other sectors.
Strengthen the child protection case management activities and capacity of the team.
Feed into the work of the national Child Protection Working Group on the development of case management systems, tools related to Separated and Unaccompanied Children and Capacity building on Psychosocial Support.
Ensure that child protection interventions are informed by and integrated with other core sectors of education, health, nutrition, food security and livelihoods.
With support from the lead Child Protection Advisor and/or other senior programme staff, support fundraising for child protection, including contributing to the development of high quality concept notes and proposals.
With support from the lead Child Protection Advisor and/or other senior programme staff, with the HR team, identify technical staffing needs for emergency programmes, and support rapid recruitment, induction and training of new staff, including recruitment of permanent child protection programme manager for the North.
With support from the lead Child Protection Advisor and/or other senior programme staff, identify programme supplies needs and coordinate with the logistics team to put in place a sensible phased procurement plan.
With support from the Monitoring & Evaluation team put in place an M & E plan for the child protection project, ensuring this links to reporting requirements, and capacity build child protection field staff in carrying out the work. Where possible, use the M&E framework to build an evidence-base for child protection programming interventions.
With support from the Accountability lead put in place accountability activities for your project, ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered in project design.
Prepare and oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against logframes, individual performance management workplans).
With support from the lead Child Protection Advisor and/or other senior programme staff, prepare timely programme and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal SC requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
Ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings, the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct.
Capacity Building:
Identify learning and training opportunities for project staff and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.
Representation & Advocacy & Organisational Learning:
Ensure that Save the Children's work is coordinated with efforts of other agencies and Government, and support Interagency Coordination forums including the Child Protection Working Group, advocating for the specific needs of children. This may involve supporting the coordination of working groups and sub-working groups.
Support coordination with other sectors and clusters on program design and messaging to ensure appropriate response is agreed and implement throughout the response.
With support from the Lead Child Protection Advisor and/or other senior programme staff, assist in advocacy activities that target decision-makers in-country.
In collaboration with the Child Protection team, feed in learning, experiences and evidence to relevant global advocacy objectives.
Contribute to communications and media work as required.
