Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:   ROLE PURPOSE: Save the Children International is a 'dual mandate' organisation that seeks to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and create lasting change in children’s lives. Save the Children has worked to ensure the protection of children’s rights in Lebanon since the 1950’s. The Child Protection programme is large, ambitious and expanding, and demands the leadership of Programme Managers in field offices to ensure high quality implementation.   The Child Protection Manager will be based in Beirut and manage the implementation of child protection programming in Beirut and the South. The Beirut portfolio currently includes child protection projects implemented in partnership with local NGOs, representation within local task forces/working groups focused on Child Protection, and support to/collaboration with UNIFIL.  The establishment and expansion of psychosocial programming, capacity development and support for caregivers, and creation/strengthening of community-based child protection mechanisms are priority themes for the area. The Child protection Manager ensures that all aspects of work are undertaken in accordance with Save the Children’s Policies.      Programme management Plan, prepare and oversee the implementation of the Child Protection Programme in Beirut and the South, ensuring the timely delivery of a quality programme (ensuring effective reporting mechanisms are developed and are operational, regular monitoring occurs against log frames, implementation plan and individual work plans are developed and performance management is undertaken). Work with team and partners to finalize operational work plans, establish clear targets and activity plans per schools Ensure coordination with other sectoral teams as appropriate Monitor expenditure based on implementation plan and budget Produce timely reports for internal and external use Liaise on a daily basis with finance, logistics, and administration to guarantee the smooth running of programmes Comply with delegated budget holder responsibilities Develop clear monitoring and evaluation plans, including feedback mechanisms to track progress Manage the interface between the field teams and technical advisory team Ensure recognized international best practices and Save the Children policies are applied in the work with children   Partnership management Maintain working partnerships and good communication with representatives of UNICEF, UNHCR INGOs and the Ministry of Social Affairs in the Beirut and the South Build and maintain partnership with local NGOs/CBOs and local governance structures (including municipalities) to work on the child protection programme In collaboration with the Director of Programme Operations, Field Manager and Partnership Manager organise monthly meetings with implementing partners to discuss progress and challenges Organize ad-hoc meetings with local partners to provide technical support during project implementation and assess potential capacity development needs to address Programme development Participate in the continuous assessment of mid and long term education needs and ensure these are appropriately reflected in internal and working group meetings, and in new programme development Work with colleagues from other sectors to ensure regular coordination at strategic and programmatic level, and, together with other team members and children, identify programme gaps and ensure appropriate action is taken Support knowledge sharing within team, and ensure that monitoring and evaluation results are understood and used to improve programs   Monitoring and Evaluation Ensure clear plans in place for monitoring and evaluating project activities in relation to the objectives and that lessons learnt are shared and capitalized on Ensure that projects are monitored regularly, and that data is collected on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis Regularly visit project sites to ensure that partners and teams are appropriately supported   Coordination and advocacy Represent Save the Children at regional coordination meetings (Protection, child protection, mental health) and other meetings and forums and take a leading role to strengthen a child protection system in programme area. Ensure that programme interventions continue to be informed by and integrated with other core sectors of Save the Children with programming in Beirut, such as education, health & nutrition, food security & livelihoods Ensure activities are developed in partnership with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders, including local partners (where present) and aim to establish/strengthen processes and mechanisms at local, district, and national levels. Promote the participation of children in all aspects of the response where possible and appropriate. Continuously identify and document child protection issues in Beirut and South, and ensure that relevant stakeholder and duty bearers are informed Contribute to the development of case studies for the purpose of reporting, advocacy and media efforts       APPLICATION PROCESS   Please note that the closing date for applications is : For External applicants on June 28th of July  .                    The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
