Role Purpose: To follow up on the implementation of CRG projects in Lebanon and to provide support on CRG projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. This should be done according to the guidelines of Save the Children International which aims to strengthen the civil society in which children are perceived as social players and human beings in their own right. This includes budget as well as programmatic implementation and monitoring according to Save the Children International (SCI) standards.
Child Safeguarding: Level 3 - the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Area ManagerStaff directly reporting to this post: CRG Officer, CRG assistant KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:General Management• Responsible for the development of the program’s annual work plan with realistic and achievable long-term goals and short-term objectives as well as the Annual Report; • Follow up and reports on objectives that are achieved and on deviations from the work plan and budget.• Contribute to proposal writing and fundraising with potential donors.• Contribute to the budget development of new CRG proposals• Responsible on developing projects’ plan and follows up on implementation and reports back against the plans as required.
• Finalizes contractual agreements between Civil Society Organisation (CSO) partners / consultants and SCI in line with SCI’ contractual requirements.
• Follows up and monitor partners (5 partners at least) based on contractual agreements made with SCI through conducting field visits, attending project activities and producing timely reports for internal use on the status of on-going programming.• Lead on the capacity building of partners• Identify and follow up with consultants on program specific components/activities. • Organize and contributes to program activities/events directly implemented by SCI (invitees, resource persons, logistics, etc.)• Provide Trainings on child rights, child rights programming and human rights to academic institutions upon request• Assist Technical Advisor (TA) in arranging regional and/or national conferences or workshops related to CRG Technical work• Follows up on reporting requirements by partners.• Responsible on development of training/ awareness raising materials and Monitoring and Evaluation Tools, and organizes and conducts training for programme partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders.• Draft CRG Area Planning • Conduct Organizational assessment for Partners and set plans• Supervise CRG officer and assistant on their day to day activities• Coordinate with logistics staff for programme procurement and for the identification and contracting of local suppliers.• Contribute to advocacy and communication work.• Contribute to the institutional memory and the experience-sharing by reporting and feedback, innovating initiatives and by networking with other colleagues/regions.• Ensure that documents such as project memos, descriptions and agreements are developed and kept according to approved formats and SCI standard filing systems.• Support and stimulates teamwork within SCI’ Lebanon offices.• Contribute to coordination between the program areas to ensure maximum impact of the activities in SCI’ programs.• Promote accountability and transparency with all the implementing activities.• Participate in internal and external coordination meetings as required, and interact regularly with Save the Children’s other sectors (education, child protection, health/nutrition, shelter and WASH) to ensure coordinated and efficient programming.• Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures. External relations & coordination• Represent SCI Lebanon in BFO, and provide technical advice where necessary, to implementing partners;• Other representation as required. • Continuous coordination with all relevant stakeholders regarding the progress of the CRG activities.• Ensure that multi sectoral other departments of the office understand and adhere to CRG values. Reporting:• Support reporting to donors by providing management information to programme managers on a timely basis;• Support other reporting processes as required• Reporting back verbally on the progress of the work, to the Programme and Area Manager, as often as needed;• Writing an evaluation report on the CRG activities/team (achievements, challenges, recommendations, etc); Other• Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE• Degree in social work, international relations, human rights or development studies.• Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships with NGOs / CSOs and government• 2-3 years of child right governance (CRG) experience with at least 1 year staff management experience preferably with INGO(s)• Excellent time management skills• Strong experience in data collection and analysis• Strong experience in field work and community mobilization; and in training groups of beneficiaries• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English• Computer skills (especially Excel)• Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Previous experience of liaising with the UN, national and donor governments and NGOs as advantage.• Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment • Available to travel in/out country
