Save the Children's work saves and improves children's lives around the world. We work to ensure children have healthcare, food and shelter, as well as learning and child protection services when children need it most. Through our programming, emergency responses and advocacy, we put the most vulnerable children first, tackling the barriers to survival, learning and protection.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Field Base Support:
- Support in coordinating and facilitating field visits, including coordination with production houses, photographers, and videographers. Support the communications team in preparing for field visits and liaising with production staff when needed.
- Assist in communication between the production team and local communities,, ensuring ethical and respectful engagement in line with safeguarding and consent protocols.
- Support in setting up and managing logistics on filming sets in the field, including identifying suitable locations, requesting permissions, and ensuring all safety measures are coordinated with relevant teams.
- Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, staff, and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, empathy, and alignment with key messaging.
- Gather human-interest stories and case studies from the field to support visibility and donor reporting requirements.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented appropriately for all filmed and interviewed individuals.
- Monitor field activities during shoots to ensure they reflect the organization’s values and messaging priorities and observe field activities and flag any issues to the communications team as needed.
- Assist in reviewing and validating raw footage and interview transcripts for quality and consistency.
- Work with the communications team to provide input into scripts, shot lists, and storyboards as needed.
- Support the translation and contextualization of content when required.
- Maintain organized records and databases of interviews, footage, and consent forms.
- Contribute to post-production feedback in collaboration with the communications and program teams.
- Support the team in reviewing final products for consistency with donor guidelines.
Design and Creative Support:
- Support the conceptualization and design of communication materials for both online (digital) and offline (print) platforms, including reports, brochures, social media visuals, factsheets, event banners, and infographics.
- Assist in working with external designers or agencies when needed by providing clear creative briefs, sharing feedback, and helping ensure final materials meet brand guidelines and donor visibility requirements.
- Ensure all design work maintains consistency in branding, tone, and messaging across all platforms and complies with organizational and donor branding guidelines.
- Archive final design files and templates in an organized and accessible manner for team use and future reference.
- Work and coordinate closely with the Communications, Social Media, and Campaign Coordinator on all aspects related to filming, design, and content production to ensure alignment with organizational messaging and campaign objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
- Previous general experience in NGOs, preferably in communication/field documentation roles. Proven experience conducting interviews in sensitive settings.
- Familiarity with video production processes and working with production teams is a plus.
