Community Health Worker

Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa: ROLE PURPOSE: Supported by Health and Nutrition Coordinator and Assistant, the Community Health Worker will carry out the emergency health and nutrition (H&N) project activities according to the implementation plan. She/he links closely with the other staff and workers in the field andworks directly with beneficiaries in the communities. Other duties include information collection of the health situation of the refugee population, awareness raising, support services, documentation and timely reporting.    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   Carry out activities      according to the implementation plan Work directly in the field      with children, families and other stakeholders of the project location he/      she is allocated to Identify new beneficiaries      (registered and non registered) in the location he/she is allocated to on      an ongoing basis Advise beneficiaries on      existing health services and other SC sector activities and refer them to      relevant organizations if needed Follow up and review      beneficiaries who attended the health facilities Collect information on the      health needs through home visits, presence at health centres, and      communication with stakeholders Provide information to      beneficiaries on key health issues such as hygiene, pregnancy care, new      born child care, and identification of illness.  Organize and carry out      awareness sessions for children, adolescents, parents and communities. Support health and      nutrition team in trainings as required. Participate in health and      nutrition assessments/mapping as required In case of acute health emergencies such as disease outbreaks, be part as response team involved in e.g. appropriate vaccination programmes, case management and control of spread.  Liaise on a daily basis      with partners and communities to guarantee the smooth operation of the      programme. Collect data, document and      report according to monitoring plan. Ensure monitoring requirements are      met and inform the direct supervisor about any difficulty met in the activities      implementation. Work towards  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree  in       nursing, nutrition, or other health related field, preferably Experience in working with children, families      and communities directly preferable Able to maintain files, registers and      databases (monitoring/documentation) and reporting Strength in interpersonal, communication and      presentation skills Computer skills Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either      English or French Flexibility      and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work      in insecure environment  APPLICATION PROCESS   Please note that the closing date for applications is : For External applicants on June 7th.                    The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
