Consultant -Trainer

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need around the world. Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1953. An emergency response is underway to reach thousands of children who have experienced suffering and trauma in Syria. An objective is to provide humanitarian assistance to crisis affected adolescents and youth in Bekaa in the form of protection and livelihoods support. More precisely, Save the Children will run Youth Centres to provide protection, psychosocial support, recreational activities, life skills and practical trainings and a safe place to meet. Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfil the following positions for its Lebanon Country Office, Bekaa field.   trainers for youth cENTREs Purpose of position: The task of each community trainer is to provide a series of practical and engaging training sessions on skills and activities which will support adolescents and youth in building valuable life skills, such as confidence, effective communication, team building, conflict resolution, problem solving and leadership. Location: Majdel Anjar, Qab Elias and Al Marj cities. Save the Children invites community members from Majdel Anjar, Qab Elias, and Al Marj to submit proposals outlining potential training courses for groups of approximately 25 adolescents and youth. Each trainer will provide a training course divided into approximately 8 sessions over 1.5 - 2 months. We are open to hearing your suggestions, but activities might include, for example, music, drama, art, design, computers or sport. Each trainer will receive basic training/coaching in psychosocial support and life skills as a preparation to work with the adolescents and youth. The trainers will ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times. Job Requirements:   Residents of Majdel Anjar, Qab Elias, or Al Marj, or those who are able to travel to the Youth Centres located in these cities Experience of working with adolescents and/or youth Experience of designing and delivering training, facilitating workshops, teaching, or extensive work experience of working directly with adolescents and youth Ability to commit to 2 months in order to deliver a series of approximately 8 training sessions Fluency in written and spoken Arabic Commitment to the core principles of Save the Children, including the Code of Conduct and child safeguarding    Each application package should include the following: Job title for the role you are applying for in subject header of the email Your current contact information Proposal containing the following information (no longer than 3 pages): Your skills/experience Outline of the training sessions you are able to run Objectives of the training sessions List of materials will you need for the sessions Budget Space requirements CV (including work experience and education)  Professional references (including contact information) Kindly do not send supporting certificates and documents at this stage     The application could be: -       saved into one Word or PDF document and sent to lebanon.vacancies@savethechildren.org
