ROLE PURPOSE:
To teach pupils within the school. Remedial Classes are for children who are enrolled in Public Schools but who have been identified as needing extra support or children who are at risk of dropping out of school in the next academic year. The post holder will carry out such other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by Save the Children, thereby providing a safe, secure, stimulating environment in which each individual achieves his or her full potential.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Be fully aware of, and endear to, Save the Children’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies and procedures and to ensure its implementation;
Maintain positive discipline practices in accordance with the Save the Children’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Agreements;
Create conducive teaching learning environment where the students will get education as per desired format of Save the Children with approval from MEHE;
Implement the curriculum set by SCI under the supervision of the Education Assistant;
Follow other rules and regulations of the school;
Teach students of the school either from a specific class or any class as assigned by the Teacher Supervisor;
Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe and respected;
Teach according to their educational and pastoral needs, the pupils assigned to the teacher;
Monitor and evaluate the children’s progress and welfare;
Maintain a well-organized teaching area which displays children’s work and has readily accessible resources;
Control and oversee the use and storage of all resources and equipment at the end of the day;
Demonstrate non-discriminatory working practices and to encourage this in others;
Manage classroom effectively
Respect the school premises (ensuring classrooms are tidy and any accidental damage is reported to the Teacher Supervisor immediately);
Liaise with Save the Children staff on internal issues. This includes attendance at meetings organized by Save the Children and to cooperate with Save the Children’s monitoring and provide information or reports if requested by Save the Children.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
Coordinate specific subjects of the Curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
University teaching degree in teaching
Bi-lingual fluency in Arabic and English if possible
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with preference in Non formal education
Is approachable, a good listener and can communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences;
Create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment;
Develops and encourages participatory teaching styles;
Be a positive role model and demonstrate conflict-solving behaviours;
Honest, encourages openness and transparency
