ROLE PURPOSE:
The IT Assistant will be mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. The tasks vary depending on the size and structure of the organisation, but may include installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring of all end user and core devices in the organization. This also includes the responsibility of planning, designing and implementing new network structures and models.

Level 2 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have some contact with or access to children or young people.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: IT Officer
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Assisting with network, system and security management.
- Conducting weekly field visits to support staff with any IT related issues and marinating the existing infrastructure.
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
- Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults.
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades.
- Assisting end user support and troubleshooting.
- Managing IT related assets and equipment (computers, servers, routers, copiers).
- Conducting user level training on daily applications used, including, but not limited to:MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic computer related skills.
- Supporting with end user system updates and monitoring, including: spyware removal and testing, virus checking and ensuring backup of data files.
- Following up with user management such as adding and deleting users from AD and working with emails.
- Monitoring printers, copiers, and fax machines to make sure that we have enough cartridges/toners and that they are working properly and getting regular maintenance.
- Displaying a high level of professionalism and end user satisfaction.
- Preserving assets, information security and controlling structures.
- Supporting with technical documentation of systems and processes.
- Forming IT systems, networks and technical knowledge base for common issues experienced by end users.
- Designing, developing, implementing and coordinating systems, policies and procedures.
- Ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems.
- Setting up offices with cabling, network socket finishing, testing, patch panel organizing.
- Developing and documenting IT procedures and policies including the network infrastructure plans for offices.
- Creating domain user, applying group policies and preparing staff asset connection on server.
- Managing and Implementing office security systems: door access control, CCTV and alarms.
- Managing global account directory and assisting in global desk support.
- Tracking and Monitoring the budgets in terms of expenditure.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor degree in information technology, computer science or any other related field
- One to two years of experience in IT support
- Expertise in Microsoft system management: managing servers, implementing and installing new servers and services
- Network Security Management: Ensuring a full time management and control of the network and data under SCI network in terms of virus, intrusion and attack protection
- Advanced experience in monitoring and control systems: Implementing a fully connected CCTV and lock control system all over the offices
- Advanced experience in data management: creating data schemes, applying access distribution, maintaining data, and protecting in terms of backups
- Advanced skills in system migration: capabilities and skills in migrating all the environment to new standards
- Experience with Microsoft software like Exchange, Active Directory, and Server platforms
- Skills in Network Management: Subnet-ing, Distribution, Routing, Nat-ting, Etc
- Advanced skill with Firewall and UTM Devices. (Web Filtering, Web Publishing, Intrusion prevention, etc)
- Medium Skills with Web Application: SharePoint, OneNet, ODK, ETC
- Experience and/or knowledge of various networking systems concepts including email, firewall, client servers, network security, network protocols, etc
- MSCA Certified: Windows Server Management W2016
- ITIL Foundation Certified
- Demonstrate creativity and good design skills for different publications
- Be able to communicate clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing
- Work as a team member and to promote a positive work environment
- Technical writing experience for reporting and case evaluation
- Apple product knowledge (Mac OSX, iPad, iPhone) email, network, printer, file share configuration. IOS installation
