Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.
Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:
JOB PURPOSE
Support the Logistics and Distribution Officer in Fleet and Movements Management, Asset Management, Purchasing, Warehousing and other duties as identified.
1. FLEET AND MOVEMENTS
- Coordinate the service and maintenance of all vehicles
- Ensure that vehicles are equipped with adequate items in line with base security plan
- Check the fuel consumption and running cost, and reports all abnormalities to the Logistics & Procurement Officer
- Centralise transport requests
- Prepare the planning and coordination with programmes.
- Disseminate travel plans to all relevant staff and displays the information on a vehicle movement board
2. ASSET MANAGEMENT
- Under the direction of the Logistics and Procurement Officer, monitor and track allocation and usage of assets amongst programmes and departments.
- Oversee maintenance of assets (and organise repairs and replacement if necessary).
- Update registration and documentation of assets and ensure all assets are labelled.
3. PURCHASING
- Under the direction of the Logistics & Distribution Officer, collect quotes and organise the receipt of goods and payment of suppliers for items needed by the programmes and other departments in respect of Save the Children procurement procedures
- Prepare for the delivery of the items, and draw up GRN and SCNs
4. WAREHOUSE & STOCK MANAGEMENT
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse from dust, bugs etc
- Ensure proper identification and counting of incoming and outgoing stock (quantity, quality; waybills, GRNs stock cards, SRFs).
- Oversee commodity handling (careful loading, unloading and stacking).
- Separate damaged goods from good ones and report them to Logistics Officer for investigation.
- Assist in equipment and stock inventory when needed.
- Ensure safe preparation for dispatch or loading of cargo onto transportation vehicles
5. MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES
The Logistics Assistant will assist with various duties including, but not limited to :
- Support the general logistics team
- Locate and hire casual workers (porters/ stevedores) if necessary
- Assist at distributions

- Numerate and literate (writing and reading)
- Strong organisational skills
- Previous experience in logistics related work or studies
- Prepared to work in tense situations and under pressure
DESIRABLE
- English speaking / writing / numerate
