Logistics & Procurement Assistant

The Logistics and Procurement Assistant will assist the Logistics Manager with the  daily progression of all requested goods and services, execute the purchase and delivery of appropriate supplies in a timely and cost effective manner using the established procurement processes and documents, maintain a very well organized filing and documentation system, hard and softcopies, for all procurement processes, Waybills, Custom documents, Contracts and other documents related to supply chain and logistics, including reviewing and maintaining an accurate up-to-date supplier information database,  under the guidance of the Logistics Manager. With regard to Logistics & Transport, the Logistics and Procurement Assistant will assist in vehicle and staff movements’ facilitation by reviewing weekly plans and liaise with drivers / passengers in advance to ensure movement arrangements are properly coordinated. The Assistant will also collect SCI Beirut vehicle log sheets from drivers to monitor maintenance costs and fuel consumption, collate information on vehicle consumption table and submit to the Logistics manager on a monthly basis. Job Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in business or administration or equivalent, or relevant experience. A proactive person with initiative, drive and honesty with high level of integrity, who can perform and meet expectations with minimal supervision; A fast learner. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Logistics skills is an asset. Computer literate and hands-on knowledge of Ms Office packages Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Good written and spoken English language skills Understanding of and commitment to Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
