THE OPPORTUNITY:
Under the supervision of the Area Manager, and with technical support from the Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Manager at Head Office, the MEAL Coordinator will lead the implementation of Save the Children Lebanon’s MEAL plans within the Area Office.
At the Area Office level, the role holder will play a leading role in implementing standardized MEAL systems and processes. The coordinator will work closely with project teams to support the implementation of project baselines and end-lines, conduct outcome-level analysis, and document all project-related evidence and learning, with technical guidance and direction from the Head Office.
The MEAL Coordinator will also collaborate closely with the Head Office MEAL Department to strengthen accountability to children and communities.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and adjust working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- A university degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, or an equivalent field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
- Strong experience and knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) approaches and systems
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including preferably 3 years in the field of MEAL
- Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and assessments
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proven experience in establishing coordination mechanisms
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to use digital tools to collect, document, and analyze data
- Excellent presentation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Strong skills in conducting field visits
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s MEAL approach, aims, values, and principles
