ROLE PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director for Support Services, the Paralegal Officer oversees field based contract review; templates; due diligence; check lists; dealings with general security; submissions of social security and follow up of national staff; staffing contracts and work permits for national staff; in addition to consultations and coordination with the lawyer and any legal counsel supporting Save the Children in Lebanon.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Prepare all legal documents pertaining to National staff employment contracts
Prepare all NSSF documents, payments ad registrations.
Prepare all legal templates and review rental agreements both at Beirut and field level
Prepare all Expatriate documentation to be submitted to the lawyer for work permits.
Prepare all Visa documentation for expat visitors and submit to GS.
Support Logistics on legal matters pertaining to local law infringements, regulations and procurement contracts
Support HR on all matters pertaining to MoL administration including appeals, warning letters etc.
Support Finance in all legal matters pertaining to financial transactions.
Support Admin in all legal matters pertaining to Administration matters.
Support programs in all official correspondence with the GoL, where legal implications are present.
Support the DCD Support Services on Fraud investigation matters
Liaises with Regional and Center on all legal matters
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
bachelors degree, associates degree or certificate program in lebanese law and paralegal studies
thorough knowledge of legal principles and practices
thorough knowledge of legal research techniques
thorough knowledge of legal terminology
thorough knowledge of legal communication principles and practices
in depth knowledge of local laws and regulations
relevant computer knowledge and experience
