Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Bekaa: ROLE PURPOSE: The Senior Psychosocial Support Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy of the psychosocial activities for children and parents in Akkar, including age appropriate recreational and resiliency activities for children and psychosocial support activities for parents. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   PSS strategy and capacity building In collaboration with the Child Protection      Adviser/Manager, design a strategy, priorities and a detailed work plan      for psychosocial activities with children and parents. Adapt materials on      psychosocial support, including PSS materials for parents, CFS      training/guidance materials, to suit local context and priorities. Coordinate psychosocial      support programming with other sectors, particularly education. Support the development      and delivery of  trainings to Animators      and volunteers Document best case      practices and case studies Establishing and      maintaining a weekly and monthly work plan which will include monitoring      visits activity locations Write weekly and monthly      reports Oversee PSS activity monitoring      at field level and ensure the collection of quality data Share information on      field-level successes and challenges with the Child Protection Coordinator        Ensure that all animators      and community volunteers have signed and understood the Child Safeguarding      policy Support in making referrals to local protection      agencies, if concerns are raised about children by facilitators, including      referral of children with special needs and recommend referrals to school      counsellors or specialists, where required. Child Friendly Spaces Support the      Identification of  suitable      sites/location to set up Child Friendly Spaces Ensure constant and      transparent communication and collaboration with relevant community      structures and leaders Supervise and manage      the performance of all CFS animators Support and coach Child      Friendly Spaces Animators in managing the CFS and the development of      quality children’s activities in the CFS Ensure quality and      minimum CFS/protection standards are implemented and respected in all CFS      sites that are supervised by the CP officer Coordinate the      participation of CFS Animators at CFS Trainings Organise monthly      meetings with CFS Animators, to share lessons learned and exchange      experiences Ensure that CFS      materials are ordered and delivered to the CFS in a timely manner Ensure that all CFS      prepare and implement an appropriate weekly activity plan Psychosocial Support for Parents Adapt materials on psychosocial support for      parents and tips for parents Together with the child protection      adviser/manager, design and implement psychosocial activities for parents Child Resiliency Support the integration of child resiliency      programming in community-based and education activities. Support the implementation of the children’s      workshops and of the parent and caregiver meetings, in conjunction with      the animators, and provide support when needed. Together with the child protection adviser/manager,      work on the adaptation of monitoring and evaluation tools for the      children’s resilience programme and ensure that data is collected as required. Summer Programs Support development of relevant programming and      sites for summer programs for children and youth Engage with communities, children and youth on      programs Ensure summer activities are implemented in line with Save the Children’s standards and child protection strategy   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree in teaching, social work or social sciences Preferably, have experience with psychosocial support programs Extensive work experience of working directly with children Excellent communication skills with children and their parents Experience in project management and supervision of staff Ability to write weekly and monthly reports Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and      either English or French Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches   APPLICATION PROCESS   Please note that the closing date for applications is : For External applicants on April 21th.   The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
