Social Worker

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the project coordinator, the incumbent will: -          Facilitate, collect and report information regarding the overall situation of the Syrian refugee children and their families in the community, with specific attention paid to the project targeted children. -          Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centered approach, acts in the best interests of the child. -          Identify social, psychological and socio-economic needs of the beneficiaries. -          Inform his/her direct supervisor about any difficulty met in the activities implementation. -          Submit reports (verbal and written) concerning the ongoing activities of the project and schools. -          Provide information and advises the beneficiaries on existing social services. -          Refer beneficiaries to the relevant and appropriate professionals or institutions. -          Work directly in the field with children, families and stakeholders of the project locations he/she is allocated to. -          Identify and follows-up on children cases and families. -          Maintain files, registers, computer databases and records in paper or electronic format. -          Collect, verify and up-date information/data related to the beneficiaries of the project. -          Work as a member of a team ensuring fluid communication of relevant information in order to make sure that a proper management of the case is preserved. -          Assist in the organization and implementation of awareness sessions for children, adolescents and parents. -          Provide information and arrange social counseling for individual cases, namely children and adolescents at risk and parents in need of support. -          Lead outreach activities. Computer Skills: Word, Excel and Internet The consultant will be based in Wadi Khaled, North Lebanon with frequent travels to Qobayat.
