Teachers - Bekaa

ROLE PURPOSE: To teach within the school in the Remedial Classes program. Remedial Classes are for children who are enrolled in Public Schools but who have been identified as needing extra support or children who are at risk of dropping out of school in the next academic year. The postholder will carry out such duties providing a safe, secure, stimulating environment in which each individual achieves his or her full potential.  SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Education Assistant   PARTICULAR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Relationships The postholder is accountable to Save the Children’s Education Assistants for his/her teaching duties and responsibilities.  2. Particular Responsibilities To be fully aware of Save the Children’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies and procedures and to ensure its implementation; To maintain positive discipline practices in accordance with the Save the Children’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Agreements; He/she is responsible to create conducive teaching learning environment where the students will get education as per desired format of Save the Children with approval from Ministry of Education and Higher Education; Is responsible for the implementing the Remedial Courses curriculum set by Save the Children International under the supervision of the Education Assistant; The teacher is responsible to follow other rules and regulations of the school; The postholder will teach students of the school either from a specific class or any class as assigned by the Teacher Supervisor; Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe and respected; To teach, according to their educational and pastoral needs, the pupils assigned to the teacher; To monitor and evaluate the children’s progress and welfare; To maintain a well-organized teaching area which displays children’s work and has readily accessible resources; To control and oversee the use and storage of all resources and equipment at the end of the day; To demonstrate non-discriminatory working practices and to encourage this in others; To effectively manage classroom. Respect the school premises (ensuring classrooms are tidy and any accidental damage is reported to the Teacher Supervisor immediately); To liaise with Save the Children staff on internal issues. This includes attendance at meetings organized by Save the Children and to cooperate with Save the Children’s monitoring and provide information or reports if requested by Save the Children. Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches. 3.  Curriculum  The post-holder will be asked to coordinate specific subjects of the Remedial Courses Curriculum.   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Previous teaching experience; Diploma in Teaching Fluent Arabic (written and oral) and strong French or English language skills; Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
