The Social worker at ECE / BLN Center will be the focal point for CP Referrals mainly in addition to:
- Design child protection capacity building plans for staff and partners
- Deliver Life skill sessions for the students, trainings for teachers if needed, and briefings, including tailored trainings where needed and feasible, to staff and partners.
- Provides ongoing and necessary technical support, guidance and advice to program staff and partners in the field of child protection.
- Tailor activities (recreational, PSS, artistic ….) based on the need of children as intervention with low to medium risk cases.
- Conduct awareness raising sessions for children and caregivers
- Coordinate with other team members, mainly PSS and Education teams, to ensure that child protection connects and is mainstreamed in other areas of work
- receive cases in need of CP services assess them and do the proper referrals.
- Do field monitoring visits and use the observation tools needed with the teachers, facilitators, and other field workers.
- Submit Daily and monthly reports to Sawa’s Education Program Coordinator.
- Family follow-up (home visit, individual and group interviews, develop a family action plan)
- Follow-up with partner schools (visits, interviews, evaluation)
- Organization of group work with young people
- Ensure SEL follow-up for kindergarten and center children,
- Administrative work, system reporting
- Organization of social support activities for beneficiaries (parents and children)
- Participation with the work team in annual planning
Necessary experience:
- Able to support individual cases in need of immediate CP intervention
- Knowledge of current principles and practices of Child Safety and Child Protection; PSEA
- Understanding of child rights (programming) in conflict and post conflict environments
- Strong critical analysis and strategic thinking skills;
- Planning and coordination ability.
- Monitoring and Evaluation ability.
- Ability to provide (creative/interactive) trainings.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to give and receive feedback;
- (Cultural) sensitivity;
- Psychosocial Support experience is an add value
- Knowledge and experience working on RIMS platform add value
- Organize and manage the individual files of each beneficiary,
- Be an active and dynamic member in a multidisciplinary team (versatility, adaptability, flexibility)
- Lead and manage a group of children, young people, parents,
- Motivation for social work with families in difficulty (flexibility, understanding attitude)
- Communication and listening,
- Writing reports
- Knowing how to plan follow-ups according to the needs of beneficiaries
- Use of office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
