SAWA for Development and Aid is a Non-profit organization working to help the Syrian refugees and host communities in Lebanon. Our work depends highly on interacting with different people from all ages and nationalities, whereby all our projects are delivered hands-on directly to the communities we serve. Our aim to ensure that all needs and necessities are carried out smoothly and on time.
We are looking for a grants officer to assist in the various processes relating to applying for grants, securing funds, responding to calls for proposals, etc.
Responsibilities
- Developing, managing, delivering, and promoting the organization’s grants program. Ensuring that the grants review and selection process is carried out in a manner that is objective, professional, financially sound, participatory, and sensitive to local needs, culture and politics in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Contributing to the development the Grants’ monitoring and evaluation frame work and assisting in its implementation, including baseline data gathering and monitoring and evaluation strategies and systems to effectively project results.
- Maintaining direct contact with donors and following up on the processes that include, as a first step, contacting and applying for grants, secondly, following up on signed contracts/agreements, and finally reporting to donors.
- Acting as a focal point for SDAID in all matters relating to narrative and financial reports, receiving and checking the fulfillment of agreement policies and guidelines.
- Establishing the Grants policies and agreements for the organization.
- Writing and designing proposals, submitting budgets in coordination with the finance department.
- Carrying out PR tasks and reaching out to potential grants and donors.
- Coordinating with departments to identify the gaps in sectors and programs.
- Explaining policies and donors’ regulations to concerned staff and departments.
- Preparing tools, grants matrix, Pipe line funds, etc.
- Ensuring the application of results-based management (RBM) standards and agreed upon indicators.
- Participating in the annual work planning and budgeting process for the Grants program.
- Preparing of annual reports, annual work plans, status reports, and other documents that may be requested by the Director.
- Working on all administrative aspects of the role to a timely and accurate standard.
Common responsibilities:
- Supporting colleagues in delivering the organization’s objectives, including assisting in events and initiatives that fall outside the direct responsibilities of this post.
- Representing the organization in meeting, functions, and events, some of which may occur outside normal office hours and may involve long –distance travel.
- Performing any other reasonable duties and tasks as requested by the organization.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in technical support work preferably in a developing organization.
- Has a good knowledge of international developing issues, trends, and approaches.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in writing documentation of meetings and workshops.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly MS office.
- A team player, flexible, quick- thinker, and able to work well under pressure.
- Commitment to Organization’s vision, mission, values and goals.
