Healthcare is one of the most financially and emotionally draining issue for Syrian families. They have to often choose between paying for their medication for the month or buying themselves food for that week. The truth is many of them are unable to afford medication for chronic illness hence they are living with many medical conditions which are making their lives so miserable, alongside distressing living circumstances.
SAWA for Development and Aid is starting a healthcare service this Ramadan in more than 18 camps in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, under the direction of Dr. Hadia Aslam, a UK based doctor and expert in developing healthcare structures in low resource settings.
Our plans will be to relieve our Syrian friends of the burden of healthcare through offering general practitioner healthcare services and dental services using mobile clinics equipped with appropriate items to deal with blood pressure, diabetes, infections, burns, etc. In the future, these mobile clinics will also allow us to assist in maternity periods including pre and postnatal assistance and pediatric and gynecologic health issues.
For this reason, we are calling for doctors to volunteer with us. We are looking for GP doctors, Medical/Healthcare Assistant, Nurse,Nurse Practitioner, Midwife, Paramedic, Dentist and Dental assistant/Dental Nurse.
