SUMMARY
The FPSS Facilitator will be responsible for managing and conducting the Focus psychosocial support activities in the Child Protection Project on protection prevention, response and self-protection for the targeted population.
RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:
Community Mobilization:
- Identify and assess the target population to be engaged in the PSS sessions.
- Conduct psychosocial activities sessions with children and other target population to disseminate information about key protection concerns.
- Facilitate and encourage the participation of children, adolescent, parents and caregivers, notably the most vulnerable ones, ensuring proper attention to their specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties;
- Conduct house visits and follow up on the street with working children as and when needed;
- Ensure children, adolescent, parents and caregivers are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities
- Facilitate referrals of identified needs to other organizations or service providers.
- Fill the data of the participants in FPSS and awareness sessions in a safely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality in all activities and information.
- Whenever possible link children involved in Focus PSS activities to CBPSS activities
- In the particular case of children involved in child labour, adopt a holistic approach through working with children and duty-bearers (parents, employers and other adults) in the work place and with other humanitarian agencies
- Monitor the number of the children attending the activities
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Participate actively in weekly and monthly coordination meeting with the manager.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports in a timely manner and incorporate manager feedback.
- Informs the CP Officer about any difficulty met during activities implementation;
- Monitor the wellbeing and child abuse cases and report any accordance in line with child protection policy and guidelines
- Ensure the adoption of minimum standard required (ex. Child Protection in Emergency) in the conduction of the activities;
Training and Capacity Building:
- Attend all trainings planned and evaluate these trainings.
- Suggest any topic for future trainings based on the needed skill or knowledge.
General Policies:
- Follow the general policies, code of conduct, Child Safeguarding policy.
- Adhere to the PSEA policy
- Abide by the values and principles of all policies set by the organization.
- Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
CP Officer.
EDUCATION AND Experience:- University degree in Psychology or any other related field
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Psychosocial work preferably psychosocial activities, social work in humanitarian or development settings
- Very good understanding of protection, refugee rights, international humanitarian principles.
- Experience working with working children

- Specialized understanding and scientific approach to human behavior, cognitive performance, mental illness and psychosocial problems
- Ability to choose, conduct and report on psychological testing and assessments for diagnosis and treatment planning (for example mental health assessments)
- Ability to engage in case formulation, treatment delivery and final outcome evaluation processes
