Summary of Position and Responsibilities
Search is hiring a Proposal Writing Consultant to work with us from September to December 2018. The Proposal Writer will work closely with Search’s Program Development, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Project Implementation Teams to design and write proposals for donors. In particular, the Proposal Writer will:
Write proposals for multilateral (primarily EU and UN) and bilateral (primarily American, Canadian and European) donors.
Work with our Program Development team to identity potential partners and engage with those partners to develop new proposals.
Liaise with our Project Implementation Teams to incorporate lessons from their projects into proposal design.
Consult with our Monitoring & Evaluation team to incorporate lessons and draw from results in our project evaluations.
Conduct research and local context and conflict analysis for proposal development.
Organise brainstorming meetings with project staff for proposal development.
Support the Country Director and Program Development Team in strategic planning and donor outreach for fundraising.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences, MENA or Arab studies, conflict resolution, international development, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of work experience in proposal writing and/or peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
Familiarity with the Lebanese and Syrian contexts and good understanding of peacebuilding and conflict transformation
Native-level written and spoken English, with superior writing skills
Ability to prepare budgets and experience with Microsoft Excel
Ability to work well under pressure with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Self-starter, able to work independently, and willing to take on tasks small and large
Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and education.
