Long term agreement with an Interpreter and a Translator

Position Summary

Search seeking to hire an interpreter and translator Services individual or company , to ensure first an effective and efficient communication in both Arabic and English both verbally and written or other languages (French) in all international meetings and visits and second a proper translation of our confidential documentation and reports that needs to be reflected in English/Arabic , vise versa or any other language .

Role and Responsibilities

For the interpretation services:

• Attend search training and workshop sessions based on Search needs and requirements whether personally or virtually .
• Grasp ideas spoken and heard only once, then convey them in a second language instantly, accurately and completely, adhering to the style and intent of the speaker either verbally or written.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding any information learned during the sessions. The interpreter will be asked to sign a confidentiality contract.
• Can generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in speeches.
• Translators must adhere to terms and means of expression specific to subject field (s).
• Able to translate terms that are related to peacebuilding, gender, human rights and conflict
• Previous Online professional Interpreting preferred.
• Demonstrated, exceptional communication skills to include conveying necessary information accurately and listening effectively.
• Ability to work successfully with others of diverse cultures and perspectives to achieve a common purpose.

For the Translation services:

• Attend an induction meeting with the Search project team everytime a document or a report needs to be translated .
• capacity to Translate a more or less  45-50 pages reports from English to Arabic in the best time possible, while maintaining the originality of the report and of the main language; and
• Hold an open communication with the Search project team, and share updates and challenges if any.

Required Profile

Minimum required Profile

• Certified  translator;
• Excellent knowledge on the Lebanese context, and particularly on topics related to human rights, VAWG, gender equality, diversity and inclusion, men engagement, equitable masculinities, youth engagement,peace building  etc.;
• Experience in translating documents on topics related to peace building and organisational work
• Experience in working with NGOs; and
• Excellent communication skills and high flexibility.

The consultant shall submit:

• CV;
• Financial proposal detailing :

translation rates per work , per page , per report…

Interpretation Services for half day 3 to 4 hours  or less

Interpretation services for full day 6 to 8 hours or more

Interpretation equipment provision including booth , sound system , camera , connectivity , headsets… divided by number of attendees from 10 to 100 .

• At least two samples of   previous work, demonstrating the capacity and experience needed;
• At least three reference letters.
