About “Partners for Justice” project

Partners for Justice is a project that is being implemented by Search in partnership with ABAAD-Resource Center for Gender Equality (ABAAD). It aims  at reducing Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in Lebanon through 1) engaging men and boys  to work with women and girls to become allies and champions of gender equality and prevention of VAWG, and 2) promoting a shift in communities’s attitudes in target areas around the permissibility of, and assumptions related to VAWG. The project is being implemented in 5 different areas including South Lebanon, Mount Lebanon, Beirut, Bekaa and North Lebanon. The project engages Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) through their youth representatives in addition to the engagement of media professionals who are being enrolled in several trainings, capacity building workshops, initiatives and a media campaign.

Position Summary

Search is looking for a consultant to conduct training and coaching sessions on “Proposal Writing & Development”.  The training and coaching sessions aim at enhancing 30 youth leaders’ capacity in proposal writing and development which will enable them to apply for mini-grants for the ‘initiatives within the media campaign’. In addition, the aim of the training is to ensure sustainability by  providing the youth leaders with the necessary skills needed to continue applying for grants after the end of the project as well as building their capacity to identify their communities’ needs and gaps. 

The position holder will more specifically have the following Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of the consultant will include:

1- Develop a training methodology for validation by the Project Manager and the MEAL Manager;

2- Draft the agenda of the training including clear objectives and expectations of each session for review and approval by the Project Manager and the MEAL Manager;

3- Develop the Proposal Writing Development (PWD) materials and tools and deliver the equivalent of a 2 days (13th and 14th of July from 9 am to 5 pm) training for 30 youth leaders. The training will be conducted in person and will be distributed to 2 sub-components:

• 2 days of 8 hours training each for 30 youth leaders (Main Training);
• 2 online coaching sessions (1-2 hours each) for each of the 4 teams / 4 initiatives (1 initiative per area) for Q/A and support in the first draft of their proposals;

4- Develop evaluation forms and pre and post-tests to be validated by the Monitoring and Evaluation department

5- Submit a draft training report for review and a final report.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Required Profile

 Search seeks an experienced consultant with the following qualifications:

A- Educational qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in NGOs management, business administration, finance & accounting, social sciences, political sciences or in any related field;
• Certified diploma in project management professional or project cycle management

B- Other qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in developing Proposal Writing & Development’s tools and materials;
• Previous experience in delivering remote/online trainings;
• Solid understanding of the project cycle phases and tools;
• Proven experience in the design, development, and delivery of similar trainings and designing evaluation forms and pre and post-tests;
•  Ability to tailor training modules to the specific needs of trainees;
• Experience in raising awareness and mobilizing disadvantaged communities;
• Strong knowledge of the Lebanese context;
• Profound knowledge of conflict transformation, conflict sensitivity and gender sensitivity;
• Willingness and ability to be flexible;
• Experience in working with international organizations.

Training will be conducted in Arabic - Reporting will be conducted in English
