Search for Common Ground in Lebanon is seeking a consultant or team of consultants to lead strategic planning and reflection for Syria programming. He or She should be able to deliver the following by the 10th of February, 2018, with most of the work taking place during the month of January, 2018
Your contribution
1. Desk review and analysis of conflict transformation work in Syria using information provided by Search.
2. Consultations with local stakeholders and analysis on specific topics as directed by Search (such as the
role of gender or media in the Syrian context).
3. Facilitation of an internal 1-day workshop with Search staff to reflect on existing conflict transformation
work in Syria, followed by the production of a report of the workshop (workshop to be held by January
15)
4. Facilitation of an internal 1-day workshop with Search staff to reflect on strategic priorities for conflict
transformation work in Syria, followed by the production of a report of the workshop (workshop to be
held by January 30)
5. Facilitation of an internal 1-day workshop with Search staff to reflect on conflict transformation
programmes in Syria, followed by the production of a report of the workshop (workshop to be held by
January 30)
The consultant will be expected to work closely with Search’s M&E and Program teams to prepare these
deliverables.
You are…
You meet the following qualification:
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and oral
- Advanced University Degree in international relations, political science, conflict studies or related fields
- At least 7 years of experience in writing proposals, developing strategies and/or writing project evaluations.
- Extensive experience working on the Syrian context
- Experience in workshop facilitation
- Experience in report writing
- Experience in working with international organisations
- Experience in conflict transformation and peacebuilding
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to be flexible with time and work schedule
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Search recommends a team of consultants that will include colleagues that together have proficiency in analysis, writing, strategic development, workshop facilitation and extensive knowledge of the Syrian context.
