Field Officer

PROJECT SUMMARY: FORSA Within the framework of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) response to the needs of Syrian refugees and their host communities in Lebanon, Fursa is a project which aims to ensure a coherent approach to the Syrian crisis by empowering refugee and host population youth with opportunities to implement community initiatives. SFCG and COSV will be implementing Fursa with a focus on 5 communities in West Bekaa and Akkar. SFCG sectors of activities will include a media incubator, psychosocial support and relation-building activities, capacity-building workshops, and the design and implementation of community projects monitored through community consultations by trained youth. JOB DESCRIPTION SFCG is seeking to recruit a Field Officer with at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in youth programs revolving around the above-mentioned areas to be in charge of the successful implementation of the FORSA project in West Bekaa. Main tasks: Under the coordination and monitoring of SFCG project coordinator, he/she will be responsible to: ▪ Develop and implement an outreach and mobilization strategy for 150 youth participants from the Syrian refugee and host communities in the targeted areas and maintain a close relation and regular follow up with them throughout the project lifetime; ▪ Ensure timely implementation of the activities by coordinating with management staff and other partners working at the centers; ▪ Monitor the implemented activities on a daily basis through different monitoring tools that will be provided by SFCG and regular consultations with the participants and trainers; ▪ Submit monthly progress financial reports to the Project Coordinator including monthly field officer journal, timesheets as well as bi-weekly plans; ▪ Provide insights on the shifting dynamics between Syrian and Lebanese populations in the targeted communities; ▪ Provide support and coaching to the selected sub grantees in the implementation of community projects; ▪ In coordination with SFCG Project Coordinator and Finance Officer, deliver payments related to the project activities; ▪ Organize and facilitate the organization of workshops and trainings by liaising with artists and trainers and ensuring the objectives of the workshops are met; ▪ Submit to the Project Coordinator: monthly field officer journal, timesheets and progress reports (financial and narrative) in addition to bi-weekly plans. ▪ Update and organize information and documents into files to be shared with the Project Coordinator for correct archiving; ▪ Maintain a link with security officials in the areas of implementation in order to monitor the security developments ▪ Liaise with local authorities in order to get their buy-in for the project ▪ The Field officer might be asked to work on weekends, depending on the need of the project and the availability of participants As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties. Other requirements: ▪ Very good computer skills including knowledge of Office Package, Email packages, etc.; ▪  Experience in financial management and budgeting is required; ▪  Experience in working with refugees and host communities; ▪  Very good capacity in problem solving; ▪  Strong communication skills; ▪  Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment ▪  Good analytical skills ▪  Willingness and ability to be flexible; ▪  Rigorous, precise and polite; ▪  Excellent inter personnel skills and team spirit; ▪  Valid driving license; ▪  Residence in West Bekaa is preferable
