Summary of Position
The purpose of the Finance & Compliance Coordinator is to be responsible for the financial set up and systems within the office according to SFCG standards to support all financial aspects of programme/project implementation as well as for ensuring compliance of all processes with both SFCG and donors’ regulations.
Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly payroll
• Prepare monthly payments for the NSSF
• Prepare and submit quarterly income tax
• Conduct internal audit assessment
• Ensure that all supporting documents are in place
• Reconciliation for the balance sheet accounts
• Assist in the preparation of the yearly NSSF settlement
• Assist in the preparation of the yearly income tax reports (R5, R6 and R7)
• Assist in developing new finance tools and templates
• Direct supervision for the finance team
• Prepare monthly reclassify sheet
• Update balance sheet schedules
• Deal with routine financial queries
• Assist Finance and Admin Manager in the preparation of Project Audits
• Ensure financial accounting is in compliance with SFCG policies and procedures and local legal requirements (taxes, social security, insurance where applicable).
• Assist in the production of donor financial reports and any other financial management reports
• Assist in the preparation of budgets for donors
• Support the external auditor to ensure timely audit report statements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Finance & Admin Manager or, in his absence, by the Country Director.
• The Finance & Compliance Coordinator must cooperate closely with the Logistics & Administration-HR departments to ensure that all financial transactions are accurate & well documented
Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Business field, Masters is a plus preferably in Finance, accounting or any other related field.
• Highly organized, calm, independent with the ability to forecast
• Reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
• Capable of analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
• Able to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
• Creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas for and answers to work-related problems.
• 3-4 years of experience in Finance with an INGO.
• Knowledge of donor regulations regarding Financial reporting ( UN, EU and US agencies)
• Dynamic with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations;
• Strong oral and written communications skills;
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability
