Project Assistant

Position Summary  

The Project Assistant will assist in a 24 months project that aims for more inclusive governance in Wadi Khaled by ensuring that local decision-making processes are all inclusive and participatory

and that development is more sustainable, equitable, and accountable. The project engages with local and national governance actors, youth, women and other marginalized groups within the community at large, to promote the principles of good governance and to guarantee a more participatory and representative governance in the target communities. 

The Project Assistant will support the Project Manager in the day-to-day operations

and implementation of the project’s activities, and will be based between Akkar and Wadi Khaled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of project activities in a timely manner, and ensure good quality action and credible outcomes;
  • Collect supporting documents for payments (receipts and invoices etc...);
  • Assist in the planning for workshops, trainings, and other project events and activities, as needed;
  • Maintain project records such as databases, reports and records of decisions;
  • Ensure that all documents related to the project are properly filed and archived;
  • Assist in identifying and selecting participants for the project activities, and report day to day activity progress, highlight challenges and suggest solutions.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’ degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences or other relevant subject
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in Wadi Khaled
  • Experience working on inclusive governance projects is a major asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail
