PROJECT SUMMARY: FURSA
Within the framework of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) response to the needs of Syrian refugees and their host communities in Lebanon, Fursa is a project which aims to ensure a coherent approach to the Syrian crisis by empowering refugee and host population youth with opportunities to implement community initiatives.
SFCG is implementing Fursa with a focus on 5 communities in Akkar and West Bekaa. SFCG sectors of activities include a media incubator, psychosocial support and relation-building activities, capacity-building workshops, and the design and implementation of community projects monitored through community consultations by trained youth.
JOB DESCRIPTION
SFCG is seeking to recruit a project assistant with at least 3 years of experience in youth programs revolving around the above-mentioned areas to support in the implementation of the FURSA project in the two target locations.
Main tasks:
Under the coordination and monitoring of SFCG project coordinator, he/she will be responsible to:
▪ Support the project coordinator in reporting internally and externally as follows:
- Drafting mid-term and final reports
- Compiling field officers journals and PC journal
- Compiling the artists and trainers periodic reports
- Drafting activity reports
▪ Attend and support in organizing the following activities:
- Two 7 days-Summer camps in July and August
- 12 community projects to be implemented from July until the end of October
- 8 reunion days (dates TBC)
- 2 days final events in each of the locations
▪ Support in the logistics of the above-mentioned activities including materials lists, collecting invoices, attendance and transportation sheets etc…
▪ The project assistant will work closely with the project coordinator, field officers and directors of partner organizations.
As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.
Other requirements:
▪ Very good computer skills including knowledge of Office Package, Email packages, etc.;
▪ Experience in working with refugees and host communities;
▪ Very good capacity in problem solving;
▪ Strong communication skills;
▪ Good analytical skills
▪ Willingness and ability to be flexible;
▪ Rigorous, precise and polite;
▪ Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit;
▪ Valid driving license;
Period: Until December, 2017 (Renewal of contract depends on project's funding)
