Project Coordination Officer - Lebanon, Akkar (Halba)

Summary of Position:

The Project Coordination Officer will assist in the management of a 12 months project to contribute to the establishment of an inclusive local governance in Wadi Khaled, and to ensure a more participatory and representative governance in the target communities. This project engages with local governance actors, youth, women and other marginalized groups within the community at large to promote the principles of good governance.

The Project Coordination Officer will support the Project Manager while working closely with relevant stakeholders, and assist in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project’s activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the proper coordination of the project implementation and activities.
  • Assist in executing project activities in a timely manner, ensuring good quality action and credible outcomes.
  • Assist in the planning for workshops, trainings, and other project events and activities, as needed.
  • Supervise two project assistants.
  • Support in the reporting on project activities, ensuring timely grant reporting and compliance with contract and donor guidelines in coordination with the Reporting Officer and Project Manager.
  • Represent Search and the project to local authorities, municipalities, and community members.
  • Facilitate communication with project participants and local municipalities, alongside the Project Manager.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences, or another relevant subject.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in project implementation, preferably in Akkar.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
