Project Title: “Resilient Communities: Supporting Livelihoods, Education and Social Stability” referred to as “Forsa”
Project Summary:
Within the framework of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) response to the needs of Syrian refugees and their host communities in Lebanon, FORSA’s objective is to ensure a coherent approach to the Syrian crisis by empowering refugee and host population youth with livelihood and education opportunities in parallel with social stability and psychosocial support initiatives. The project will target 5 communities in Akkar and 5 communities in West Bekaa for a 12 month period. Most of the project activities will take place at one community center in each of the two regions which will serve as a central hub for all youth participants.
SFCG is looking for radio trainers to work in Akkar and West Bekaa to help in the implementation of the media incubator activity where youth will be 1) trained in the Common Ground Approachto radio programming (curriculum available at SFCG in English) and 2) given the opportunity to put their skills into practice in a real work environment: a community radio station. This initiative will involve Syrian and Lebanese youth to write, produce and broadcast radio programmes that highlight the challenges but also the benefits of collaboration between refugee and host communities.
SFCG is seeking to recruit a radio trainer having previous experience in training, engaging with youth and working with international/local NGOs.
