Organization Overview
Search for Common Ground (Search) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way societies deal with conflicts. We have acquired over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and are based in 53 local offices worldwide. Search first worked in Lebanon in 1996, and we opened up our office in Beirut in 2008. Since then, our activities and capacities have grown significantly. We rely on local staff as well as local partner organizations in order to ensure our work is culturally sensitive, sustainable and well-grounded in the Lebanese context.
Project Summary: The project aims at promoting a culture of nonviolence and peace building through supporting civil society actors. The main objective is to bring people together across dividing lines through creating safe spaces for dialogue. Main activities include capacity building, networking sessions and community projects.
Search is seeking to recruit trainers specialized in conflict transformation with an extensive knowledge of the topic, having previous experience in engaging with civil society actors and working with international/local NGOs.
Scope of Work:
In coordination with the Project Manager, the consultant will be responsible for:

Drafting the agenda of the workshop which includes clear objectives and expectations in addition to the exercises and tools used for each session;

Delivering two 4-days online training in the period of January 2018 - February 2018 on conflict transformation for participating civil society actors representatives, ensuring that the sessions are progressing as planned and effectively managing group dynamics in a way that evokes creativity and participation.
Other requirements:

Proven capacity building experience in delivering trainings on conflict transformation ;

Previous experience in working with civil society organizations;

Previous experience in conducting online trainings;

Applicants must be confident, persuasive, and able to communicate very well in Arabic;

Good English language skills;

Excellent time management skills.
Education degree: Master’s Degree
Field of education: At least 3 years of relevant field experience in a similar position.

Proficiency in English and Arabic both oral and written.
