Trainer On Facilitation Of Roundtable Discussions

PROJECT SUMMARY: FURSA Within the framework of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) response to the needs of Syrian refugees and their host communities in Lebanon, Fursa is a project which aims to ensure a coherent approach to the Syrian crisis by empowering refugee and host population youth with opportunities to implement community initiatives. SFCG is implementing Fursa with a focus on 10 communities in Akkar and West Bekaa. SFCG sectors of activities include a media incubator, relation-building activities, capacity-building workshops, and the design and implementation of community projects monitored through community consultations by trained youth. As part of the project activities, youth who are being trained on social leadership will work in groups to come up with community projects proposals in consultation with the relevant communities and will go through a competitive process which will allow them to receive a small grant for the implementation of the community projects. In order to ensure that all community projects are in line with the relevant refugee and host communities’ needs and aspirations and that they get the buy-in of most of the community members, it is essential that the youth consult with their communities before during and after the implementation of the projects through roundtable discussions. Thus, youth groups will assign 20 facilitators who will be rigorously trained on how to facilitate roundtable discussions. JOB DESCRIPTION Therefore, SFCG is looking for a trainer on facilitation of roundtable discussions, who can provide a 5 days residential training for 20 youth participants and 6 project staff. The training is foreseen to take place in mid-April, thus the availability of the trainers during this month is a must. Main tasks: The Trainer is cordially requested to: 1- Design and present to SFCG a training agenda and a detailed timetable of the training Sessions outlining the topics which will be covered and showing the numbers and types of exercises which the Consultant intends using; 2- Prepare presentations that enhance the quality of learning for trainees; 3- Coordinate with the project coordinator and the social leadership trainers in order to refine the curriculum in line with the youth learning journey; 4- Use a highly interactive training methodology in order to emphasize the ideas of the training and assures a wide involvement from the trainees; 5- Tailor modules to meet the specific needs of the trainees; 6- Develop pre and post tests and evaluation forms to be completed by the participants in order to properly document the activity and assess the progress of the participants through the training Sessions; 7- Attend the review, debrief and Analysis Sessions (RDA Sessions) at the end of each training day to assess the training Sessions. The findings of each RDA Sessions shall be used by the consultant to adapt the materials and approach for the next day’s training Sessions and, 8- Based on the Timetable, the consultant’s observations and the analysis of the evaluation forms, and the pre and post-tests, provide SFCG with a full report 7 days after the training. Other requirements: ▪       Very good computer skills including knowledge of Office Package, Email packages, etc.; ▪       Experience in providing trainings on conflict transformation and peace building; ▪       Strong communication and training facilitation skills; ▪       Willingness and ability to be flexible; .       Excellent interpersonal skills
