Child Protection Program Assistant

Operational Tasks

  • Organize and supervise the registration process (contact beneficiaries, invite them to the registration session & fill the documents needed) with the coordination of PSS monitors & volunteers.
  • Maintain the beneficiaries Sector’s records and files in a safe place (closed place with limited access for confidentiality).
  • Ensuring that the weekly work plan is respected & the schedule defined is implemented as planned.
  • Support in finding solutions for obstacles with the coordination of line manager.
  • Follow up on volunteers & service providers’ activity and attendance.
  • Fill activity data on a weekly basis.
  • Fill invoices on relative forms on a daily basis.
  • Audit data filled and report if there is any discrepancy.
  • Assist the line manager in the implementation of the project (scheduling the activities, organizing for the activities, monitoring on the field, supporting the measurement of quality of implementation, etc.).
  • Attend meetings if requested by line manager.
  • Follow up on SIF procedures and standards, including health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to its staff, volunteers and beneficiaries.
  • Manage the whatsapp group with different groups of beneficiaries.
  • Report to line manager any incident on field with beneficiaries or partners, or anyone in contact with SIF staff.
  • Provide regular & timely performance feedback to line manager.

Referral Tasks

  • Being responsible for external referrals for all identified cases (medium and high risk cases) in need of further support, safeguarding the confidentiality on the “need to know basis”.
  • Coordinate with technical supervisor for complicated high risk cases.
  • Follow-up pending cases to ensure feedback and closure of cases within 90 days.
  • Share and review the calls logbook (hotline) with SIF hotline volunteer and managers.
  • Establish a good network with the actors in the area of intervention in order to have an efficient referral pathway. In that sense, develop and revise frequently a mapping of all actors in the zone of intervention that can provide social services to vulnerable people.
  • Update the leaflet to be shared with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Provide information and support to vulnerable children refugees and their families referred from SIF team or from third organizations.

PERSON QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications, experience and competencies:

  • University degree in psychology, social work or any related field
  • At least 1 year’ experience in protection or related field
  • Relevant experience of at least 1 years with national and international NGO and awareness of Human Rights
  • Interpersonal skills and strong cross-cultural communication are very important. Including ability to lead and work with a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and work planning skills and the ability to work in a high volume work environment.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic (speaking and writing), French an asset.
  • Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, proven problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Rigorous, and polite.
