MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
- Supervise and guide the identification, referral, and technical follow-up of SIF support interventions for vulnerable children and families
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the CP action plan, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and strategic objectives.
- Provide high-level technical support to the child protection program, including updating and enforcing the use of Child Protection (CP) guidelines and tools during activity implementation.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess and supervise the implementation of Psycho-Social Support (PSS) programs, providing technical guidance and ensuring consistency in program quality.
- Lead the assessment, design, and refinement of child protection and GBV prevention programs, using data-driven insights to ensure alignment with LCRP standards and harmonization with international and local CP actors.
- Oversee research, training, assessments, data collection, and proposal writing processes, providing technical input and strategic guidance for CP, GBV prevention, and PSS activities.
- Direct the creation, revision, and regular update of technical tools, guidelines, and SOPs, collaborating closely with internal teams to enhance tool effectiveness and relevancy.
- Train staff on the correct use of technical documents, providing periodic refresher courses to ensure consistency and compliance at the field level.
- Supervise the technical aspects of PSS sessions and interventions at the field level, coordinating with the PSS Trainer to provide actionable feedback to CPS.
- Ensure consistent supervision of SIF safe centers and other intervention areas, working alongside the PSS Trainer to address issues and promote safe practices.
- Lead the development and revision of PSS-CP activity curricula for various target groups, collaborating with the PSS Trainer to ensure materials are relevant and impactful.
- Supervise the creation of monitoring and evaluation tools, including Focus Group Discussion (FGD) instruments and pre/post assessment tools, to enhance program evaluation.
- Produce regular reports on field visits, including technical assessments and feedback, and propose clear action plans for addressing identified gaps.
- Represent SIF in MHPSS, Protection Working Groups, and other meetings, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders and conveying key updates to the Line Manager.
- Child Safeguarding Focal Point
- Conduct a risk assessment, develop a plan to manage the identified risks and map the child protection legal framework.
- Develop a plan for the implementation of the CSP at mission level, which considers local context and legal framework, monitor and evaluate this plan;
- Contribute to ensuring that all persons working for or on behalf of SIF integrate child safeguarding related measures into all mission processes, procedures and documents (e.g. program, operations, HR, ICT, etc.);
- Build capacity of and train SIF staff, partners and visitors (in particular, through creation of CSP educational materials and training briefings) so that they understand the CSP and associated responsibilities;
- Support SIF staff and partners in implementing the CSP, in particular as soon as child safeguarding risks are being evaluated;
- Develop a network of contacts and establish a map with local specialists (in particular for child protection);
- Raise awareness of children, youth and communities on child safeguarding
- Ensure that both the feedback and complaints mechanism and SIF’s incident reporting procedure are accessible in local languages, and that they are also both child-friendly and functional
- Participate in the management of child safeguarding cases and ensure that the best interests of the child are upheld by defending children’s rights, safeguarding confidentiality and securing child participation;
- Participate in child safeguarding discussions and working groups;
- Draw up and deliver an annual report to the child safeguarding advisor at Head Office;
- Any additional task requested by line manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: First University Degree in human rights, psychology, sociology or any other social science fields is required.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of related professional experience in the humanitarian field with other NGOs, preferably in humanitarian response in PSS or CP programs Psychology or Child Protection. Program/project development and management in humanitarian organizations is a plus.
- Languages: Advanced in both oral and written English communications. French is a plus.
