Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a non-governmental organization based in France that promotes international solidarity. Founded in 1991, SIF intends to bring relief and protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts, or economic collapse. SIF intervenes in more than 30 countries around the world through emergency relief, recovery, and development aid. It carries out operations in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Its goal is to help people suffering throughout the world, regardless of origin, religion, or gender.
Role Summary
SIF is seeking motivated Data Collectors who will support the field data collection activities under the MEAL department with a focus on delivering assigned tasks and objectives on time and to a high standard of quality. Data will be collected using the KoBo platform, and volunteers will be responsible for conducting interviews with beneficiaries in line with agreed sampling and methodology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administering household surveys, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and/or Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), ensuring accuracy and reliability of the data collected.
- Using the KoBo platform to record responses correctly and completely.
- Ensuring adherence to ethical standards of data collection, including confidentiality, informed consent, and respectful engagement with participants.
- Asking questions in a clear, neutral manner without influencing respondents’ answers.
- Supporting different modalities of data collection, which may include door-to-door household surveys, community-based assessments, and on-site interviews.
- Reporting any challenges or inconsistencies to the supervisor in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
- Basic knowledge of mobile data collection tools (preferably KoBo).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of data collection ethics and ability to work respectfully with diverse communities.
- Flexibility to work in the field and adapt to different contexts.
