JOB DESCRIPTION Position: English Trainer Base: Ain erRoummaneArea , Mount Lebanon.   Secours Islamique France (SIF)is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is an apolitical neutral organization whose objective is to provide immediate and long-term support to vulnerable population affected by natural disasters, armed conflicts and other types of crisis.   SIF has been present in Lebanon since 2012, implementing projects through National partner aiming at distributing assistance to the Syrian refugee populations affected by the conflict in Lebanon. This program allowed SIF contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the children, youth and their families. In response to the current crisis in Syria, and the growing numbers of refugees coming to Lebanon, SIF is expending its humanitarian response and will scale-up its emergency support to Syrian refugees and affected population. In view of SIF operation scale up SIF is currently recruiting Part Time English Teacher to begin immediately. The English Teacher will be based inBaabda Area, but will support SIF’s main office in Beirut. Furthermore, the English Teacher will be in contact with other SIF members to harmonize and share tools as well as lessons learnt.TheEnglish Teacher is part of the Protection Program team of SIF-Lebanon and will be under the line management of theProtection ProgramManager.   TheEnglish Teacherworks in the Child Friendly Space (in Ain erRoummanne) by delivering English lessons for children in addition to the Psychosocial support sessions.   MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  Assess the level of English proficiency among children Preparing lessons Plan according to the level of children Preparing class room and course work materials, homework assignment and handouts Deliver English lessons to a range of different age groups Creating positive, stimulating and safe environment Coordinate with Psychosocial and Social Workers and animators Maintain and complete accurate records of children (Attendance Records) and progress Report Perform other duties are required.      ETHIC AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE Respect to child Protection Openness to working with refugees (Syrian, Palestinian, Iraqis etc.) and deprived children Always respect of beneficiaries’ confidentiality Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of SIF’s policies amongst the teams or partners. Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers Always respect a refusal of treatment.   PERSON QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications, experience and competences University degree in Education, English literature or other related field 2 to 3 years of experiences Basic understanding of Child protection Good Communication and interpersonal skills Experience within another NGO, scout desired, but not mandatory Experience in Working with Refugees Good Cultural Awareness and sensitivity Respect of SIF values and mandate
