MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Develop and implement age-appropriate psychosocial activities and awareness sessions for children, youth, and caregivers in the SIF or Partner’s Safe Centers, according to SIF curricula.
- Monitor, supervise and mentor PSS community members and Partner’s staff while providing children, youth, & caregivers with community based PSS, in a participatory and empowering manner.
- Supervise, Monitor workshops organised for youth and caregivers within or outside the partner’s premises.
- Ensure/ monitor that all beneficiaries participate in the activities that are non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate.
- Ensure / monitor that beneficiaries can participate in FGD in order to understand and better answer to their needs, and to provide them the opportunity of feedback/evaluation at the end of each cycle.
- Ensure / monitor that parents/caregivers are involved in ensuring the safe access of the minors in SIF activities and they are getting informed whenever there is the need following the best interest of the child.
- Contribute to create a positive atmosphere interacting constructively with colleagues and children, youth or caregivers.
- Ensure/ monitor that the children /youth /caregivers feel safe, comfortable and respected all the time.
- Ensure / monitor that the activities are done in a clean and hazard free location.
- Ensure that all beneficiaries are registrated for the activity;
- Verify the beneficiaries list and presence / monitor the verification process of the list and presence.
- Collaborate in ensuring / monitor that the material is appropriately used and later stored in a safe way at the end of the day.
- Prepare / monitor all the necessary for the various activities well in advance, paying attention to details. Co-plan all activities /implementation etc with the Co-Facilitator (Partner’s staff / community members).
- Establish / monitor a calendar/agenda for each intervention for the children/youth/caregivers concerned.
- Interfere to resolve points/ matters that could happen through the activities to ensure smooth and effective implementation;
- Support and train PSS community based members and partner’s staff on planning a session and writing the daily report of the PSS activities.
- Provide regular & timely performance feedback to line manager and TU by filling evaluation form.
- Work directly with the SIF technical unit and Protection team to develop intervention plans and follow up in the SIF / Partner’s Safe Center.
- Communicating efficiently with technical team and field officer conveying to them ideas and new proposals according to daily observation in dealing with children, youth and caregivers.
- Be able to identify children, youth and caregivers at risk of harm or being harmed and being able to refer them as per the SIF procedure.
- Ensure PSS community based members & PSS support volunteers,Partners’s staff identify and refer beneficiaries in need for case management and other services to SIF or to the person in charge within the partner’s organisation.
- Report any observed problem of a child / youth / caregivers to the Technical Unit and field officer for further assistance.
- Contribute to spread the messages to the community and beneficiaries (be able to orient and support beneficiaries on services available in the mapping of services and establish positive relationships with beneficiaries).
- Attend weekly meetings with the Technical Unit, field officer and program manager.
- Be able to provide a correct use of guidelines, tools, material and games in the SSC once agreed with the technical unit.
- Be flexible in replacing other PSS facilitators / monitor when asked by the line manager.
- For workshops, ensure that evaluation methods are used (focus groups discussions, pre and post test, etc) and organize focus groups if necessary;

PERSON QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications, experience and competencies
- University degree in Psychology, social workers, specialized education or related degree
- Experience in working with Children, youth and adults: Strong Experiences in providing psychosocial and recreational activities Basic understanding of Child protection mainstreaming :min 2 years experiences in such work
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Experience within another NGO desired, but not mandatory
- Good Command of English and excellent command of Arabic (speaking and writing)
- Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel and Word
- Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in environment with tight deadlines;
- Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, proven problem solving and organizational skills
