Psycho-Social Support Facilitator - Bekaata

Secours Islamique France (SIF)is a Non-GovernmentalOrganization of international solidaritybased in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is an apolitical neutral organization whose objective is to provide immediate and long-term support to vulnerable population affected by natural disasters, armed conflicts and other types of crisis. SIF has been present in Lebanon since 2012, supporting both the Syrian refugee populations and Lebanese community affected by the conflict. This program allowed SIF contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the children and their families In response to the current crisis in Syria, and the growing numbers of refugees coming to Lebanon, SIF is expending its humanitarian response and will scale-up its emergency support to Syrian refugees and affected population. In view of SIF operation scale up SIF is currently recruiting PSS Facilitator to begin immediately in two different Child Friendly Spaces’ (CFS). The PSS facilitator will be based in Chouf Area, but will support SIF’s main office in Beirut. Furthermore, the he/her will be in contact with other SIF members to harmonize and share tools as well as lessons learnt. The PSS Facilitator is part of the Protection Program team of SIF-Lebanon and will be under the line management of theCFS supervisor.   MISSION CONTEXT The SIF project aims at strengthening the identification of vulnerabilities, their assessment and adequate referrals to existing services. The Psychologist jointly with the Social Workers, ensure the identification of most vulnerable beneficiaries in need of psychosocial support. The PSS facilitator work in the child friendly space to implement psycho-social support activities (community based PSS) recreational activities sport activities and awareness sessions with children. Strong coordination with other actors in the area of intervention is the pillar of this program and the referral mechanism will guarantee the provision of adequate services from others partners. The action aims at strengthening awareness and advocacy efforts towards increased access of most the vulnerable (mainly children and women alone) within humanitarian actors’ coverage in the areas of intervention. Furthermore, as part of a longer term strategy aiming at supporting and reinforcing resilience of local stakeholders, the action includes a strong capacity building & strengthening component targeting SDC and local stakeholders on protection, child protection, referral pathway and mechanism, conflict resolution etc. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  Develop and implement age- appropriate recreational and psychosocial activities for children and/or youth in the SIF Community Center; Ensure that all beneficiaries participate in the activities that are non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate; Ensure that parents/caregivers get frequent feedback about their child’s participation during the sessions; Work directly with the PSS/Protection technical teamto develop intervention plans and follow up in the CFS; Be updated on the most popular references for sport and other recreational activities to implement with children/youth; Prepare all the necessary for the various activities well in advance, paying attention to details; Contribute to create a positive atmosphere interacting constructively with colleagues and children/youth Ensure that the children/youth feel safe, comfortable and respected all the time Ensure that the activities are done in a clean and hazard free location; Collaborate in Ensuring that the material appropriately used and later stored in a safe way at the end of the day; Communicating efficiently with technical team and Area Supervisor conveying to them ideas and new proposals according to daily observation in dealing with children; Establish a calendar/agenda for each intervention for the children/youth concerned; Being able to identify children at risk of harm or being harmed and being able to refer them as per the SIF procedure to the organization’s focal point; Report any observed problem of a child to the Technical team and Area Supervisor for further assistance. Report and support the constant evaluation process about the impact of activities on children/youth Verify the beneficiaries list and presence; Contribute to spread the messages to the community and beneficiaries(be able to orient and support beneficiaries on services available in the mapping of services  and establish positive relationships with beneficiaries). Attend weekly meetings with Technical team and Area supervisor; Being able to provide a correct use of guidelines, tools, material and games in the CFS once agreed with technical team. REPORTING Reports directly to SIF’s Beirut Office, the Project Manager/line manager. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of each week: Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of children, youth, adults participating, activities delivered, etc); Centralize all information (appropriate narrative reports, weekly updates etc.) gathered in the field and consolidate a daily report into the proper reporting format to be delivered to the Area supervisor and technical team for all technical aspects. Provide regular reporting on your activities to the PM and Program Coordinator upon solicitation. ETHIC AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE Abide the SIF child Protection policy and Code of Conduct; Openness to working with refugees (Syrian, Palestinian, etc.) and deprived children/youth Always respect of beneficiaries’ confidentiality Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of SIF’s policies amongst the teams or partners Address needs and requests in a professional way Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others. Always respect a refusal or resistance in participating to some activities Always collaborate in a respectful and collaborative way with other colleagues. PERSON QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications, experience and competencies University degree in Psychology, social workers, specialized education  or related degree Min 6 months experiences in such work Experience in working with children and youth: experience in working with women highly desirable; Strong Experiences in providing psychosocial and recreational activities to children (play game, painting, drawing, music, sport, drama, handicraft, etc) Basic understanding of Child protection mainstreaming; Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills especially with children Experience within another NGO desired, but not mandatory Good Command of English and excellent command of Arabic (speaking and writing) Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel and Word Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in environment with tight deadlines; Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, proven problem solving and organizational skills Rigorous, and polite Respect of SIF values and mandate WORK RELATIONSHIPS Line manager: CFS supervisor Line manager+1 program manager and program coordinator In direct cooperation with: Technical team JOB CONDITIONS              Remuneration: according to SIF salary grid              Starting date: 1 august              Duration/ Type of contract: 5 month              Social insurance: Covered by SIF
