Psychosocial Support Trainer/supervisor

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is an apolitical neutral organization whose objective is to provide immediate and long-term support to vulnerable population affected by natural disasters, armed conflicts and other types of crisis. SIF has been present in Lebanon since 2012, implementing projects through National partner aiming at distributing assistance to the Syrian refugee populations affected by the conflict in Lebanon. This program allowed SIF contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the children and their families. In response to the current crisis in Syria, and the growing numbers of refugees coming to Lebanon, SIF is expanding its humanitarian response and will scale-up its emergency support to Syrian refugees and affected population. In view of SIF operation scale up SIF is currently recruiting Animators to begin immediately in two different Child Friendly’ Spaces (CFS). The PSS Trainer/Supervisor will be based in Beirut, but s/he will move regularly to all SIF’s areas of intervention. Furthermore, the PSS Trainer/Supervisor will be in contact with other SIF members to harmonize and share tools as well as lessons learnt. The PSS Trainer/Supervisor is part of the Syrian Refugee Support Program team of SIF-Lebanon and will be under the line management of CP specialist and in contact with Project Manager and the Program coordinator.   MISSION CONTEXT The SIF project aims at strengthening the identification of vulnerabilities, their assessment and adequate referrals to existing services. The SIF Protection Team ensures the identification of most vulnerable beneficiaries in need of psychosocial support, which is provided in the child friendly spaces together with recreational activities, sport activities and awareness sessions for children, youth and women. Strong coordination with other actors in the area of intervention is the pillar of this program and the referral mechanism will guarantee the provision of adequate services from others partners. The action aims at strengthening awareness and advocacy efforts towards increased access of most the vulnerable (mainly children and vulnerable women) within humanitarian actors’ coverage in the areas of intervention. Furthermore, as part of a longer term strategy aiming at supporting and reinforcing resilience of local stakeholders, the action includes a strong capacity building & strengthening component targeting SDC and local stakeholders on protection, child protection, referral pathway and mechanism, conflict resolution, etc. GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION Under the technical supervision of the Child Protection Specialist, the PSS Trainer/Supervisor is responsible for training and briefing the PSS staff about PSS activities in Child Friendly Spaces, in order to create appropriate PSS/Protection Curricula for all SIF targets. Moreover s/he will be responsible in training on PSS subjects whenever there is the need and to follow the training on the job in SIF areas of intervention. Prepare and Conduct Trainings for PSS facilitators and volunteers in what is related to the domain of working (PSS subjects, PSS activities in CFS etc.) Design appropriate PSS curricula for each target of SIF intervention, on different PSS topics and activities to be implemented in Child Friendly Spaces. Training on the Job PSS facilitators and Volunteers during PSS sessions with different targets. Conduct weekly meeting in SIF areas of intervention, in order to discuss feedback and PSS achievements with Area Supervisors and PSS team. Contribute in the PSS sessions when it is required or in the case of shortage of Facilitators or volunteers. Any other relevant task as per request from his/her line manager. Ensure the correct use of tools, material and games in the CFS; keep everything in an efficient way.   RENSPONSABILITIES AND OBJECTIVES Activities/main duties   Ensuring a regular supervision in the CFS in SIF areas of intervention. Ensuring regular technical reports to CPS after field visits Ensuring a regular training on the job regarding PSS activities developed Together with Protection Technical Officer, ensuring the quality of PSS items purchased in close coordination with the logistic department and your line manager Proposing changes, updates or new implementation of PSS activities in the centers depending on the needs Attending the weekly PSS Technical meeting in Beirut with Protection technical officer and CP specialist. Work in harmony with different teams ensuring the development of all teams and the delivery of equal trainings. Together with Protection Technical Officer, to design PSS/CP curriculum for different SIF targets (children/youth/women etc.), under the supervision of CPS.       WORK RELATIONSHIPS Line manager: CPS Line manager+1 program manager and program coordinator In direct cooperation with: Referral Focal Point, PSS facilitators, Area supervisors and Protection technical officer.     ETHIC AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE ü   Abide to SIF CP Policy and Code of Conduct ü   Address needs and requests in a professional way. ü   Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others. ü   Ability to respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty. ü   Ability to adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc). QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS MA Degree in Psychology  At least 1 year of professional experience in the humanitarian field with other Ngos, preferably in emergency response At least 1 year of professional experience in the field of Psychology or Protection Good understanding of humanitarian principles, CP mainstreaming and MHPSS IASC Guidelines in Emergency settings. Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written); Driving license:  not mandatory Computer skills: Proficiency in current office software applications; Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in environment with tight deadlines;   ETHIC AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE   Abide to SIF CP policy and Code of Conduct  Address needs and requests in a professional way Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others Ability to respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty Ability to adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc).      PERSONAL QUALITIES   High Flexibility, dynamism and team working spirit; Good at connecting with people and establishing trust.
