- MISSION CONTEXT
Support and strengthen protection for children, adolescents and caregivers amongst the Syrian-Crisis affected population as well spread the peace and reconciliation themes and promote social cohesion.
- OBJECTIVE OF THE CONSULTANT MISSION
General Objective
The general objective of the course is to teach classes of around 20 women or youth in Chouf area English language.
Specific objectives
- Offer learning experiences of the highest standards possible, irrespective of gender, ethnic background, age or disability
- Provide English language Curriculum and develop it based on beneficiaries needs.
- Ability to give English lessons that can complement school’s curriculum for youth.
- Strengthen the sense of self efficacy and self-esteem; to acquire cognitive, emotional and specific competences.
- Create an environment where beneficiaries develop a sense of belonging, an experience of mutual sharing, and a possibility of building new relationships.
- prepare regular evaluations and tests to assess progress of trainees.
- Provide English language for 120 minutes per session for at least two sessions per week for each group.
- Liaising regularly with social stability officer to guarantee the smooth operation of the program.
- Provide English classes two days in Barja and two days in Baqaata.
- Reporting mechanisms
Report directly to the Social Stability Officer. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of the training sessions:
- Provide a weekly lesson plan.
- Submit by the end of each session a report regarding lessons learned.
- Prepare activity sheets and lesson plans for every session.
- Register daily attendance.
- Submit a monthly progress report.
- Submit at the end of the cycle a report measuring the quality and impact of the course.
- Qualifications of the consultant
Person qualifications
- Acquisition of English literature diploma.
- Relevant experience of at least 1 year with national and international NGO.
- Experience in teaching English language.
- Awareness of Human Rights and Refugee International Laws.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
- Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic language (speaking and writing).
- Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, proven problem solving and organizational skills.
- Rigorous, and polite.
- Respect of SIF values and mandate.
