Social Workers

In response to the current crisis in Syria, and the growing numbers of refugees coming to Lebanon, SIF is expending its humanitarian response and will scale-up its emergency support to Syrian refugees and affected population. In view of SIF operation scale up SIF is currently recruiting Social Workers, to begin soon. The Social Worker will be based in Mount Lebanon, but will support SIF’s main office in Beirut. Furthermore, the Social Worker will be in contact with other SIF members to harmonize and share tools as well as lessons learnt. The Social Worker is part of the Syrian Refugee Support Programme team of SIF-Lebanon and will be under the line management of the Cash  Project Manager. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  Conduct community outreach and home visits; Work directly with the Program and Field team, including field officers, to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home/ shelter level; Identify  arrived Syrian refugee families or individuals to Lebanon through home/shelter visits; Collect information about visited vulnerable families through interviews, observation, and tests carried out via outreach home visits; Collect data and referrals from the field level (e.g. Municipalities, L/INGOs, Focal Points, UNHCR) The Social Workers will be an essential source of providing accurate referrals when need be ; Complete intake assessments, evaluations, reviews, and other documentation as necessary; Awareness raising on the services available in Mount Lebanon on home and shelters level; Attend weekly or biweekly meetings in Beirut based Head of Mission and Program Coordinator  TEAM MANAGEMENT Ensure feed back towards your team about issues potentially raised by them and in the field; Ensure a good communication – coordination – information level of each member of your team through regular coordination meetings (or other if needed); You ensure conflict resolution (personal and professional) within your team and inform the Head of Mission; REPORTING Reports directly to SIF’s Beirut Office, the Cash Project Manager and Programme Coordinator. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of each week: Centralize all information gathered in the field and consolidate a daily report (into the proper reporting format) to be delivered to the Head of Mission, Programme Coordinator & Cash  Project Manager; The Narrative Report which includes: the number of beneficiaries, actions taken, number of house-visits conducted, awareness raising activities, number of people attending the session with breakdown per age group and gender; Weekly update – numbers of beneficiaries and households visited segregated by age, gender,  NFI needs and vulnerability (i.e. living in very poor conditions and other); Provide regular reporting on your activities to the Head of Mission and Programme Coordinator upon his/her solicitation PERSON QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications, experience and competences University degree an asset Basic understanding of humanitarian principles and humanitarian processes. Experience within another INGO desired, but not mandatory Excellent command of English and Arabic (speaking and writing), French an asset Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel and Word Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in environment with tight deadlines Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, proven problem solving and organizational skills.
