Social Worker

Contract duration: 02/2020 - 07/2020 (104 man days)

Work place: Tripoli, Lebanon

Payment: according to the budget rate

Work description:

• Identify beneficiaries (families or individuals) who are in special needs, provides consultations and meetings with beneficiaries on various topics (awareness sessions) in case of need
• Refer cases externally to other local or international organizations when necessary, or internally to the psychologist hired in the scope of the project
• Follow up on cases
• Contribute to the improvement of SEED internal and external practices in the field of Child Protection and ethical codex
• Works on improving training materials for education staff and psychosocial activities targeting children and parents
• Prepare and facilitate „Positive parenting “ sessions to 20 parents
• Report regularly on activities to the manager of children education
• Participate on coordination meetings of NGOs dealing with Protection, Child Protection and develop the network of SEED in order to ease referrals.
• Contribute to the outreach
• Assists with other relevant activities when necessary

Required level of education, qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor degree in Social Work
• At least 2 years of working practice as a social worker in educational centres, schools and other setting involving children and/or youth
• Professionalism when working with beneficiaries, great communication skills
• Knowledge of beneficiaries’s needs in relation to education and protection (vulnerable Lebanese and refugee children/youth)
• Ability to organize group meeting, motivate people and secure participation on activities
• Good communication skills within the organization
• Being able to adapt to cultural context and follow the vision, values and principles of SEED and People in Need Slovakia
