SEEDS is seeking a full time accounting & Financial Officer to conduct the following tasks:
- Keep accurate records of all transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Track bank deposits and payments.
- Review and verify payments and financial reports and ensure that the supporting documentation complies with SEEDS’ policies and procedures.
- Manage data entry on QuickBooks.
- Process monthly invoices and payment requests following donors’ requirements and SEEDS’ internal financial procedures.
- Prepare monthly cash and bank reconciliation sheets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Provide full reporting to donors on expenditures and financial reconciliation.
- Implement efficient budget controls and allocations for running projects.
- Responsible for consultants/staff contracts as well as suppliers’ payments.
- Submit tax forms.
- Participate in financial audits and budget preparation activities.
- Organize and implement financial policies.
- Responsible for the procurement process for the organization and running projects, such as requests for quotation, quotation analysis, fees negotiations, contract preparation, and follow-up on payment.
- Manage all contract arrangements and ensure that contractual obligations are adhered to.
- Responsible for monthly petty cash replenishments.
- Monitoring and maintaining office equipment and inventory supplies; order replacement supplies as needed. Ensuring that stationery and other office materials are stocked and made efficient use of.
- Receives and sends official correspondence and maintains a record of it.
- Preparing correspondence, documentation, or presentation materials, this includes updating the staff directory.
- Conduct filing and ensure all documentation is recorded, scanned, and filed. Maintain a printed archive of important communications and contracts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or similar fields
- Proven work experience as a Financial Officer or similar role
- Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
- Experience using financial software
- Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
- Good organizational and time-management abilities
- Knowledge of national financial regulations
