Online Orientation Experience Developer

Under the responsibility of the GET project manager, the Online Orientation Experience Developer will be responsible for the following functions:

 

1/ Plan, prepare and implement the online orientation with the experts

  • Identify tools, interactive media, and social media that create community and engagement for online students.
  • Compile study strategies e-resources, self-assessments, and tools designed to improve students’ readiness and success for online orientation
  • Create multimedia guidance and orientation assets with a variety of tools, videos…
  • Convert existing materials to function optimally in the online environment
  • Convert orientation and guidance concepts and related material into a wide range of online graphics, videos, or other illustrative resources
  • Review and evaluate emerging technologies for continuous innovation of the online orientation and delivery strategies
  • Consult with graphic designers, web and online tools developers and GET team about effective ways to create, organize and deliver the online guidance and orientation content. Collaborate with them on the production and design of digital orientation tools and assist with embedding these tools in web-based applications
  • Coordinate to create, design, deliver, evaluate, and maintain an interactive student orientation experience to prepare students for success

2/ Assessment and studies

  • Realize tracer studies and surveys to identify trends and student needs
  • Conduct labor market assessments to identify needed skills and potential existing gaps
  • Consult companies’ human resources department and recruitment agencies and review new recruitment leanings, procedures, and practices
  • Conduct researches and reports analysis from online resources to identify the unique needs of online learners and characteristics that impact their success
  • Analyze and report all collected data and interprets and synthesizes data to lead appropriate improvements

 

3/ Follow-up on the online tools created

  • Review online tools survey data and conduct focus groups with online students as needed to develop material that best serves their needs.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness, student satisfaction, and sustainability of resources developed.
  • Provide recommendations regarding online student support strategies to intervene based on review of performance data and develop online student support strategies to target students who struggle in online classes.

 

4/ Follow-up on online students

  • Serve as the point person for online students who need assistance with the intake process, enrollment, advising; also handle advising, testing, and proctoring queries from online students who initiate contact via email, phone, and live chat
  • Review student demographic and survey date of retention and completion in online course

 

5/ Launch and promote the online tools

  • Organize visits inside the schools to introduce the online tools and publish it among technical students
  • Coordinate with IECD communication manager to promote the tools and increase its visibility
  • Organize and structure trainings for guidance and employment officers (GEOs) on the designed and created digital materials
  • Set a strategy with the GEOs to use the digital tools as a plus during their guidance and orientation activities
  • Co-manage multiple orientation and guidance events in/outside schools (ex. Career week, orientation day, forums…)  while monitoring, measuring and reporting on progress to ensure created tools are delivered with the highest level of quality and innovation and response to the students’ needs.

6/ Capitalization

  • Coordinate, create and maintain an online student support guide, managing materials and documentation.
  • Assist in writing the guidance and orientation policy and guidelines
  • Assist in setting the GEO deployment strategy all over Lebanon

 

7/ Transversal tasks

 

PROFILE

Education: Higher education (bachelor or master)    

Experience: 2 to 5 years in instructional design, creating educational and orientation tools content

  • Demonstrated success working with instructors and students from a wide range of academic cultures and disciplines whether in the private, public schools
  • Knowledge of educational and instructional theories and principles applicable to a variety of teaching & learning modalities.
  • Previous experience of project management preferably in the social domain
  • Familiarity with online learning technology required

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in the Arabic language (oral / written) mandatory
  • Very good writing skills in English. French is a plus.
  • Experience in conducting trainings
  • Excellent computer (Microsoft office) and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and determine effective business and alternative solutions.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies in instructional settings.
