IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement), created in 1988, is a French non-profit organization which acts towards the socio-economic development of developing countries. IECD contributes to the emergence of local development actors (organizations and people) in order to respond along with them to 3 major challenges towards the long term development of their countries:
- Socio-Professional inclusion for young adults
- The strengthening of small and very small enterprises.
- Access of disadvantaged populations to improved educational, health and social structures
Background
After the success of the first industrial fair which was held in Saida (Khan el Franj) in 2012, IECD and its partner -Foyer de la Providence- are organizing a similar Job/orientation Fair in order to work on the professional insertion of the youth by strengthening their connections with the labor market. This fair might also include more sectors in addition to the industrial.

The objectives of this fair are to:
Youth:
- Inform them about the technical education and help them build their professional path.
- Provide them with information related to the labor market and employment status
- Empower the insertion of youth in the labor market especially those marginalized by the school system and the job market.
Companies and civil society:
- Promote technical education and raise general awareness around the importance of technical sector in Lebanon and its career opportunities.
- Promote Corporate Social Responsibility among the enterprises.
Term of References
IECD is looking for an expert to organize and coordinate orientation sessions during the 3 day fair and to collaborate in the preparation of the event, mainly to consolidate the content which will be delivered in the schools before the fair.
The expert and IECD team will be strictly responsible for the complementarily of the information provided during the activities, which will require close cooperation between both responsible parties.
The audience of the fair will be divided into the following category:
Academic schools: 14-15 years old (Brevet and under)
Technical schools: Secondary level- BT1, BT2 and BT3
Job Seekers / Technical students- BT3
Objectives by beneficiaries groups:
1-Academic students:
- Discover the technical field.
- Have an idea about the jobs offered by the market.
- Get a panorama of all the specializations they have access to (during the field visit before the fair)
- Get detailed information about the specializations that will be exhibited during the fair
2-Technical Students/Job seekers :
- Discover the labor market and the job opportunities.
- Prepare them for the labor market through certain sessions during their visit to the fair like:
C.V writing.
How to prepare for an interview.
Entrepreneurship.
Success stories.
Hints and Tips
3-Companies:
Make them participate by giving them roles in the activities that will be taking place during the fair.
Activities should be prepared to match the 2 age groups separately.
Means:
Group A: Youth below brevet level from academic schools
Group B: Youth in the technical education stage (A&B will be hosted from 9:00am to 2:00pm --> (Approximately 70 students/hour)
Group C: Job-seekers (C will be hosted between 3:00pm till 6:00pm --> Approximately 28 students/hour)
Expected deliverables
- The Expert should have a clear three-day schedule, stating how he/she will divide his/her time and
what activities will be implemented.
- Take into consideration the objectives mentioned above and prepare matching activities.
- Make sure the activities are interesting enough to catch the crowd`s attention.
- The attendees should have a beneficial and efficient participation during the forum.
